is a Japanese Independent animation, independent animator who, after leaving a career as a background artist at an animation studio, Film director, directs, Screenwriting, writes, Film editing, edits, Animator, animates, creates the model sheets and background art for and sometimes Film producer, produces his own short films and has worked on many commissions such as music videos, television advertisements, title sequences and Station identification, station idents, both on his own and under or with other directors. He is also a regular illustrator of children's literature and textbooks. His animation spans a variety of media, his earliest independent works mixing clay painting and stop motion with cels, but has latterly come to concentrate on traditional animation. Annecy International Animated Film Festival
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival (, officially abbreviated in English as the Annecy Festival, or simply Annecy) was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals organised by the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA). Genie Award
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978), known as the "Etrog Awards" for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed its statuette. Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which were distributed to Academy members and industry members. Peer-group juries, assembled from volunteer members of the Academy, met to watch the submissions and select a group of nominees. Academy members then voted on these nominations. A meditation on the passage of time, the film contrasts the story of Eadweard Muybridge, the British photographer who was a key innovator in the concept of photographically recording motion, with the story of a contemporary mother in Tokyo who realizes that her daughter is growing up and slipping away from her. The Ottawa International Animation Festival is an annual animated film and media festival that takes place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film is an award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as part of the annual Academy Awards, or Oscars, since the 5th Academy Awards (with different names), covering the year 1931–32, to the present.
