Könsrock (Swedish for ''Genitalia rock'') is a Sweden, Swedish music genre characterized by off-color humor, dealing with subjects such as handicapped people, disorders and diseases, homosexuality, and Nazism, often with strong elements of toilet humor. The term ''könsrock'' was coined by music journalists to describe the genre after it had existed for a couple of decades, and has in general not been used by the artists themselves. Characteristics Könsrock is commonly produced using the same line-up as punk rock, often including post-punk influences with drum machines, keyboards, and other electronic devices. Some bands use heavily distorted instrument similar to extreme punk, and some use a more experimental sound deliberately made to sound unpleasant. Eddie Meduza
Errol Leonard Norstedt (17 June 1948–17 January 2002), better known by his stage name Eddie Meduza, previously known as E. Hitler, was a Swedish composer and musician working mainly in the rockabilly genre. Music career Themes and behaviour Many of Meduza's songs are about alcohol, women, and cars, often with obscene lyrics. Some songs are politically oriented, with many aimed against the various Swedish governments in power during his musical career. One of Meduza's personas was the vulgar E. Johnny Bode
Johnny Bode (6 January 1912 – 25 July 1983) was a Swedish singer and composer, who was a Nazi sympathizer and convicted fraudster. Bode had a turbulent career, and was at one point sent to a mental hospital. He published compositions under several different names. Music career Bode was 17 years old when his first phonograph recording was released, and he proceeded to record hundreds of songs on 78-rpm records, many of which were his own compositions. One of his best-known songs, "'' En herre i frack"'' ''(A Gentleman in a Tailcoat''), was recorded by Swedish actor and singer Gösta Ekman in 1935. Pedophilia ( alternatively spelled paedophilia) is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children. Off-color humor (also known as vulgar humor, crude humor, or shock humor) is humor that deals with topics that may be considered to be in poor taste or vulgar. Onkel Kånkel
Onkel Kånkel and his Kånkelbär (), commonly referred to as just Onkel Kånkel, was a Sweden, Swedish könsrock/punk rock band known for lyrics with off-color humor, dealing with subjects such as disabled people, disorders and diseases, Nazism, homosexuality, pedophilia, and coprophilia, often with elements of toilet humor. Many songs reference Swedish TV and radio personalities. Onkel Kånkel is often considered to have created the könsrock genre.
