Kåre Fossum
Kåre Fossum (born 19 September 1936) is a Norwegian veterinarian. He was hired at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science in 1961. He started as a research assistant, then became associate professor, then professor of microbiology and immunology from 1975. He served as rector of the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science from 1989 to 1992, with assistance from prorector Knut Rønningen. From 1973 to 1975 he was a guest professor at the Department of Public Health, Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Nairobi, and he has also been director of the ''Veterinærmedisinsk senter'' in Tromsø. In 1995 he was hired at the National Veterinary Institute. He is a member of Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. Norwegian School Of Veterinary Science
Norwegian School of Veterinary Science ( no, Norges veterinærhøgskole) or NVH was a public university located at Adamstuen in Oslo, that educated veterinarians and veterinary nurses as well as research within aquatic medicine, food safety, comparative medicine and mammalian diseases, health and welfare. The institution had about 450 employees and 500 students. Parts of the research were conducted in Tromsø and Sandnes. On 6 January 2014 the school joined with the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås, and by 2020 it will be completely relocated to the same location. Programs Veterinary Medicine A total of 70 students were accepted to the veterinary medicine courses each year at NVH. Nordstrand () is a borough of the city of Oslo, Norway. It borders Gamle Oslo in the north, Østensjø in the east and Søndre Nordstrand in the south. The borough is located in the southern part of the city and with a population of 52,459 people as of 2020. Gustav Reidar Birkeland (19 November 1928 – 19 September 2018) was a Norwegian veterinarian. Life and career Gustav Reidar Birkeland was born in Sauda, and took the ''dr.med.vet.'' degree in 1955.
