Käuzchenkuhle
''Käuzchenkuhle'' is an East German film. It was released in 1968. Plot Jean-Paul Fontanon, known as Jampoll, comes from Berlin and travels to his grandparents in the country in Wolfsruh every year during the summer holidays. But this time everything is different. Grandfather doesn't pick him up. Already at the train station, he runs into a Mr. Kohlweis, who takes him to the village on his bike and sends his regards to his grandfather Kalmus. After Jampoll has passed the stranger's greetings, Kalmus is nervous and upset. Together with his friends Screw, Christian and Linde, Jampoll begins to spy on the mysterious Herr Kohlweis, who now works in a sawmill. They find out that Kohlweis used to be an officer in the SS and at the end of World War II in April 1945 he dumped a box of looted art in nearby Mummelsee. Manfred Krug
Manfred Krug (; 8 February 1937 – 21 October 2016) was a German actor, singer and author. Life and work Born in Duisburg, Krug moved to East Germany at the age of 13, and worked at a steel plant before beginning his acting career on the stage and, ultimately, in film. By the end of the 1950s he had several film roles, and in 1960 he appeared in Frank Beyer's successful war movie ''Fünf Patronenhülsen'' ('' Five Cartridges''). Many more film roles followed, with Krug often cast as a socialist hero. Krug also achieved notability as a popular jazz singer, often in collaboration with composer Günther Fischer. In 1976 the East German government (GDR) forbade Krug to work as an actor and singer because he participated in protests against the expulsion and stripping of GDR citizenship of Wolf Biermann. East German Films
This is a list, in year order, of the most notable films produced in the Soviet Occupation Zone of Germany and the socialist German Democratic Republic (GDR, East Germany) from 1945 until German Reunification in October 1990. The state owned East German film company DEFA produced about 800 feature films between 1946 and 1992. Besides DEFA, the state broadcaster DFF and the Deutsche Hochschule für Filmkunst (now the Filmuniversität Babelsberg) were the only other organizations in the GDR that produced feature films for cinematic release, although far fewer than DEFA. DEFA also produced about 750 animated movies and more than 2500 documentaries and short films.
