Kyra Fortuin (born 15 May 1997) is a field hockey player from the Netherlands, who plays as a forward. Personal life Kyra Fortuin was born and raised in Maastricht, Netherlands. Career Club hockey In the Dutch Hoofdklasse, Fortuin plays club hockey for SCHC. Her club history includes representation for Oranje Zwart and HC Oranje-Rood. National teams Under–21 In 2016, Fortuin appeared for the Netherlands U–21 on two occasions. Her first appearance was during a Four–Nations Tournament in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, and the second at the Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile. At the tournament, Fortuin scored two goals, and helped the team to a silver medal finish, losing in the final to Argentina. The following year in 2017, Fortuin won her first gold medal with the team at the EuroHockey Junior Championship in Valencia, Spain. The Fédération Internationale de Hockey (English: International Hockey Federation), commonly known by the acronym FIH, is the international governing body of field hockey and indoor field hockey. Women's FIH Pro League
The Women's FIH Pro League is an international women's field hockey competition organised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which replaces the Women's FIH Hockey World League. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Women's Hockey World Cup, Hockey World Cup and the Field hockey at the Summer Olympics, Olympic Games. The first edition was started in 2019. 2019 Women's FIH Pro League
The 2019 Women's FIH Pro League was the first season of the Pro League, the premier women's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in January 2019 finished in June 2019 in Amstelveen, Netherlands. The Netherlands defeated Australia 4–3 in a shoot-out after the final ended in a 2–2 draw to win the first FIH Pro League title. The competition also served as a qualifier for the 2020 Summer Olympics with the four best teams qualifying for the FIH Olympic Qualifiers taking place in October and November 2019.
