(Original description) The shell is acute and polished. its color is white with touches of brown on the anal fasciole and on the body whorl behind the varix. The protoconch is blunt. The first whorl is smooth, the second peripherally carinate. The eight subsequent whorls are moderately rounded. The suture is distinct, appressed and somewhat undulate. ''Calliclava alcmene'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family (biology), family Drilliidae. Description The size of an adult shell varies between 13.5 mm and 19 mm. (Original description) The small shell is pinkish white and polished. It is acute, with a flat-topped protoconch of two polished, prominently peripherally keeled Whorl (mollusc), whorls and about eight subsequent whorls. The suture is appressed, with a retractively nodulous, thickened band in front of it, forming the posterior margin of the anal fasciole. The Sculpture (mollusc), sculpture consists of (on the body whorl 22) somewhat sigmoid rounded ribs with subequal interspaces, reaching from the suture over the whorl to the siphonal canal. They are constricted over the narrow anal fasciole and feebler on the anterior part of the body whorl. These ribs are cut into subnodulous segments by deep narrow sharp spiral grooves, with much wider interspaces, two or three on the Spire ( ...

The Whorl (mollusc), whorls are longitudinally ribbed with the ribs terminating on a nodulous periphery, above which the surface is smooth and slightly concave. The lower portion of the body whorl has revolving striae. The shell reaches a length of 22 mm.G.W. Tryon, Manual of Conchology vol. Kylix Paziana
''Kylix paziana'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae. Description The size of an adult shell varies between 12 mm and 17 mm; its diameter is 5 mm. (Original description) The small, acute shell is pale olivaceous. It contains 10 whorls, of which the first in the protoconch is smooth and the second obscurely peripherally keeled. The subsequent whorls are normally sculptured. The suture is distinct The periphery of the upper whorls is nearer the succeeding than the preceding suture. The anal fasciole is constricted but crossed by the ribs. The spiral sculpture consists of (on the upper whorls 4 or 5, on the body whorl about 14) strong cords with narrower groove-like interspaces, extending from the fasciole to the siphonal canal. The cords are not swollen where they cross the ribs. The axial sculpture consists of (on the penultimate whorl 13, on the body whorl 10) rounded ribs with subequal interspaces, strongest at the ...

Kylix Panamella
''Kylix panamella'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae. Description The shell grows to a length of 14 mm, its diameter 6 mm. (Original description) The small, polished shell is white, with, on the body whorl and in the throat, a livid pinkish tint. The shell contains 10 whorls. The protoconch is eroded, but its first whorl is flattish and appears from above discoid and glassy. The subsequent whorls are glistening, constricted and appressed at the suture. These whorls contain (on the penultimate whorl eighteen) arcuate and protractive axial ribs which extend from the suture to the siphonal canal except over the last half of the body whorl. The constriction which indicates the anal fasciole gives the posterior edge of the whorl a marginate appearance, but does not interrupt the ribs, which are very prominent in front of the fasciole at the shoulder. The whole surface is evenly sculptured by strongly incised, almost channelle ...

''Kylix impressa'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae. Description The shell grows to a length of 14 mm. The shell is tuberculately ribbed with oblique ribs. The interstices are transversely striated The back of the body whorl is smooth. The shell has a pale flesh-color, the ribs are whitish. The outer lip is a little expanded.G.W. Tryon Manual of Conchology vol. Kylix Hecuba
''Kylix hecuba'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae. Description The shell grows to a length of 11 mm, its diameter 4.5 mm. (Original description) The small, acute, rosaceous, solid shell contains six whorls, excluding the (damaged) protoconch. It differs from ''Cymatosyrinx idothea'' Dall, 1919 by its more slender shell, wider fasciole, over which the ends of the ribs reach the preceding suture, forming a more pronounced shoulder at the periphery, and having the whole shell spirally sculptured by small equal threads with subequal interspaces. The columella is longer and the siphonal canal distinct, longer, and somewhat constricted. Otherwise the shells are very similar and the protoconch, though damaged, appears to have been of the same character. Distribution This species occurs in the demersal zone of the Pacific Ocean from the Gulf of California, Western Mexico to Panama References Tucker, J.K. 2004 ''Catalog of re ...

Kylix Halocydne
''Kylix halocydne'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae that lives in a tropical climate, usually in the Eastern Pacific area. Description The shell grows to a length of 18 mm, its diameter 6 mm. (Original description) The slender shell is acute and rather flat-sided. Its color is purplish brown usually more or less obscured by a yellowish white glaze. The first turn of the protoconch is smooth and inflated, the second has a peripheral keel and is followed by about 8½ subsequent whorls. The suture is strongly appressed with a smooth narrow band in front of it and behind the somewhat constricted fasciole Other spiral sculpture consists of sharply incised lines, four or five on the spire between the sutures, equal and with wider equal rounded interspaces, and about 24 on the body whorl. The interspaces become more cord-like near the siphonal canal and sometimes feebly nodulous where the lines cut the ribs. The axial sculp ...

Kylix Alcyone
''Kylix alcyone'' is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Drilliidae. Description The shell grows to a length of 15 mm, its diameter 4.5 mm. (Original description) The small, slender shell is acute. It is white and polished. It contains about nine whorls (the protoconch decorticated). The suture is distinct, not appressed. The anal fasciole is adjacent to it with no thickened cord between. The whorls are well rounded but the fasciole is flattish. The spiral sculpture consists of (on the early whorls two, on the body whorl about 15) sharply incised lines in front of the shoulder cutting the ribs into squarish segments which are hardly nodulous. On the siphonal canal there are a few finer closet-set threads. The axial sculpture consists of (on the penultimate whorl about 21) rounded somewhat sigmoid ribs, extending from the suture to the base, feeble on the fasciole and the base of the shell and obsolete on the last half of the body whorl. ...
