Kyle Platzer
Kyle Platzer (born March 4, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing with Schwenninger Wild Wings in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth-round, 96th overall, of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Platzer played major junior hockey with the London Knights and the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and was selected by the Oilers in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, 96th overall. He was later signed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Oilers on April 5, 2015. Platzer made his professional debut in the American Hockey League (AHL), appearing with the Oilers affiliates, the Oklahoma City Barons and the Bakersfield Condors. Schwenninger Wild Wings
The Schwenninger Wild Wings are a professional Germany, German ice hockey team from Villingen-Schwenningen in Baden-Wuerttemberg that was founded on 20 July 1904 and currently plays in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). The greatest success of the association was to reach the play-off semi-finals of the first Bundesliga in 1990. In 1994 the Wild Wings were a founding member of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The Wild Wings play their home games in Helios Arena, a 6,193-seater stadium, and the club's colors are blue and white. 2014–15 OHL Season
The 2014–15 OHL season was the 35th season of the Ontario Hockey League, in which twenty teams played 68 games each according to the regular season schedule, from September 24, 2014 to March 22, 2015. The Niagara IceDogs began play at their new arena, the Meridian Centre. The Ottawa 67's returned to TD Place Arena after a two-year hiatus due to a renovation. Brian Kilrea returned to coach the Ottawa 67's for one game on October 17, becoming the oldest coach in league history. The Oshawa Generals won the J. Ross Robertson Cup for the 13th time in franchise history, as they defeated the Erie Otters in five games in the final round of the playoffs. 2013–14 OHL Season
The 2013–14 OHL season was the 34th season of the Ontario Hockey League. The Brampton Battalion relocated to North Bay and became the North Bay Battalion, playing at the North Bay Memorial Gardens. The first two outdoor games in OHL history were held this season, when the Saginaw Spirit, Windsor Spitfires, Plymouth Whalers, and London Knights played at Comerica Park in Detroit, Michigan as part of the Hockeytown Winter Festival on December 29. On March 11, 2014 Terry Trafford of the Saginaw Spirit, who had been missing for eight days, was found dead in his vehicle at a Wal-Mart in Saginaw, Michigan. Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) is a Canadian junior ice hockey league based in Southern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by the Ontario Hockey Association, Ontario Hockey Federation, and Hockey Canada. The league is considered Junior B by the OHA, although it has attempted several times to be promoted to Junior A. Waterloo Siskins
The Waterloo Siskins are a junior ice hockey team based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Western conference of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. History Founded in 1934, the Siskins are one of the longest running Junior teams in hockey history. The team took a short hiatus in World War II. In the 1950s, the team was a part of what was then known as the "Big 10", and in 1956 was allocated in the Central "B". As part of the 1971 geographic realignment, the Siskins moved to the Western Junior B league. In 1973, the Siskins joined the Southwestern "B", which became the Waterloo-Wellington "B" in 1974, and the Midwestern "B" in 1977. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist.
