Kyle McCann
Kyle Joseph McCann (born December 2, 1997) is an American professional baseball catcher and first baseman for the Piratas de Campeche of the Mexican League. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 MLB draft by Oakland after three seasons at Georgia Tech. Following his junior season, ''Baseball America'' named him a second team All-American as a designated hitter. He was also named all-ACC first team catcher. Amateur career McCann attended Lambert High School in Suwanee, Georgia, and Georgia Institute of Technology. He played college baseball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets from 2017 through 2019. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Baseball
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball team represents the Georgia Institute of Technology in NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I college baseball. Lambert High School
Lambert High School is a public high school in Suwanee, in Forsyth County, Georgia, United States. It is the one of eight high schools in the Forsyth County School District. The Midland RockHounds are a Minor League Baseball team based in Midland, Texas. The team, which plays in the Texas League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Athletics major league club. The RockHounds play in Momentum Bank Ballpark, which opened in 2002 and seats 4,709 fans. The Vermont Lake Monsters are a collegiate summer baseball team located in Burlington, Vermont, United States, who were founded in 1994 as the Vermont Expos. They were members of Minor League Baseball, in the New York–Penn League (NYPL), until 2020. Since their founding in 1994, they have played their home games at Centennial Field, one of the oldest minor league stadiums, on the campus of the University of Vermont. Buster Posey Award
The Buster Posey Award, formerly known as the Johnny Bench Award, was created in 2000 to honor college baseball's top catcher in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The award is administered by the Wichita Sports Commission and presented after the conclusion of the College World Series. Originally named for Johnny Bench, it was renamed in 2019 after Johnny Bench announced the creation of his own national award for amateur catchers. The commission reviewed the statistics of the prior winners and unanimously chose to rename the award after Buster Posey. Schools nominate their catchers during the season to create the official watch list. A select committee of 20 individuals narrows the watch list down to the semifinalists. The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL or Cape League) is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league located on Cape Cod in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
