Kyle College
Kyle College is an independent, co-educational, boarding and day school situated about 6 km from the centre of Masvingo on Capota Road on the Eastern side of the Shagashe river. It has views of the Ruvure, Nyuni and Nyanda hills to the South, and the Mangwandi granite dome in the North West. Kyle College is a member of the Association of Trust Schools (ATS) and the Headmaster is a member of the Conference of Heads of Independent Schools in Zimbabwe (CHISZ). The School is known for its Rugby. The First XV is known as the VIKINGS. They have been co-opted into the Super 8 Rugby Schools. Masvingo
Masvingo is a city in south-eastern Zimbabwe and the capital of Masvingo Province. The city is situated close to Great Zimbabwe, the national monument from which the country takes its name and close to Lake Mutirikwi, its recreational park, the Kyle dam and the Kyle National Reserve where there are many different animal species. It is mostly populated by the Karanga people who form the biggest branch of the various Shona tribes in Zimbabwe. History The city was known as Fort Victoria until 1982, when its name was briefly changed to Nyanda, after a mountain about 10 kilometres south of the town, on the Masvingo to Beitbridge Road. That led to protests, because "nyanda" means "one who has lice", and public sentiment was that Masvingo would be more reflective of the history of the city. Tafadzwa Chitokwindo
Tafadzwa Chitokwindo is a Zimbabwean rugby player who represents Zimbabwe at an international level. He is known for his speed. Early life Tafadzwa Chitokwindo was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, in 20 September, 1990. He is the oldest of the three children in his family. Growing up in Bulawayo and in Masvingo, he attended at Victoria High School in Masvingo in forms one to four, then moved to Kyle College. He represented Masvingo Province at the Zimbabwe National Youth Games in the 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump and 110m hurdles. He was then selected to represent Zimbabwe in South Africa in 2008 for the Coca-Cola Craven Week. Rugby career In 2010 he was part of the Zimbabwe Young Sables team in the 2010 IRB Junior World Rugby Trophy in Russia. He scored three points with one drop. Granite Dome
Granite domes are domical hills composed of granite with bare rock exposed over most of the surface. Generally, domical features such as these are known as bornhardts. Bornhardts can form in any type of plutonic rock but are typically composed of granite and granitic gneiss. As granitic plutons cool kilometers below the Earth's surface, minerals in the rock crystallize under uniform confining pressure. Erosion brings the rock closer to Earth's surface and the pressure from above the rock decreases; as a result the rock fractures. These fractures are known as exfoliation joints, or sheet fractures, and form in onionlike patterns that are parallel to the land surface.
