Kyebi
Kibi or Kyebi is a town located in the East Akim Municipal District, Eastern Region, Ghana, Eastern Region of Ghana. Its population is 11,677 people as of 2013. History Kibi is the traditional capital of the Akyem Abuakwa state in the Eastern Region, Ghana, Eastern region of Ghana (also known as Okyeman). The Ofori Panin paramount stool, the traditional seat of the Okyenhene, is located in Kibi. Transport The Kibi railway station serves Kibi a short distance on the Ghana rail transport network. Education Kibi has a number of educational institutions from primary education to higher education, as well as a school for the deaf, which was founded in 1975 and had 213 students by 2008. Akyem Abuakwa
Akyem Abuakwa is a traditional kingdom in Ghana. It dates from at least the 16th century. Its capital is and was Kibi, Ghana, Kyebi. Currently, it is a non-sovereign monarchy and part of Ghana, one of the three Akyem states, the others being Akyem Kotoku and Akyem Bosome. Historically, the Akyem were part of the Adansi, Adansi Kingdom, which was the first nation to build buildings out of mud. They were therefore named Adansi (builders). In the 18th century, the Ashanti Empire emerged, and under the leadership of Osei Kofi Tutu I, King Osei Tutu, defeated the Adansi and annexed them into the Ashanti Empire. Jones Ofori Atta
Akwasi Andrews Jones Amoako Atta Ofori Atta (7 December 1937 – 30 November 2020) was a Ghanaian economist and politician. He was a senior lecturer in economics at the University of Ghana and served as ministerial secretary (deputy minister) for Finance and Economic Planning in the Busia government. Early life and education Jones was born on 7 December 1937 at Fankyeneko in the Eastern region to Nana Sir Ofori Atta I; the Omanhene of Akyem Abuakwa between 1912 and 1943. He had his early education at the Kibi Government School from 1943 to 1950 and his secondary education at Achimota School from 1950 to 1957. He proceeded to the University of Ghana from 1958 to 1961. William Ofori Atta
William Ofori Atta (10 October 1910 – 14 July 1988), popularly called "Paa Willie", was a Ghanaian founding member of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC) and one of the founding fathers of Ghana as one of " The Big Six" detained by the British colonial government in the then Gold Coast. He later became a Minister for Foreign Affairs in Ghana's second republic between 1971 and 1972.
