Kyabram Football Club
The Kyabram Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Bombers'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Kyabram, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVFL). History Kyabram was a foundation club in the Goulburn Valley Football League (GVDFA) in 1893 and initially wore a white and blue jersey, with red stockings. Kyabram did not affiliate with the GVDFA between 1895 and 1898, but the "Kyabram Ramblers FC" were active playing a number of friendly matches against other local teams in 1896. Kyabram FC rejoined the GVDFA in 1899. The club had a successful era the 1920s, when they won five GVFL premierships, including the Kyabram Reserves winning the senior football premiership in the Northern Goulburn Football Association in 1929. Goulburn Valley Football League
The Goulburn Valley League (GVL), also known as the Goulburn Valley Football Netball League (GVFNL), is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia, Victoria. History The league was initially called the Goulburn Valley District Football Association (GVDFA) and dates back to May 1893. Clubs from the townships of Kyabram, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Nathalia, Numurkah, Shepparton, Shepparton Ramblers, Tatura, Undera and Wunghnu were present at the inaugural meeting, with club's deciding to play on a Wednesday afternoon. The five original clubs that chose to play on Wednesdays that made up the 1893 GVDFA draw were – Kyabram, Mooroopna, Shepparton, Shepparton Ramblers and Tatura with Mooroopna defeating the Shepparton Ramblers in the 1893 GVDFA grand final. Colin Graham OBE (22 September 1931 in Hove, England – 6 April 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri) was a stage director of opera, theatre, and television. Graham was educated at Northaw School (Hertfordshire), Stowe School and RADA. Early in his career, he began a long association with Benjamin Britten, for whom he directed all but one of the composer's stage works, including all of the world premieres after 1954. He became associated with the English Opera Group in 1953. In the 1950s, he also worked for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in London and later at Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Glyndebourne and at the English National Opera in the 1970s. Shane Alan Fitzsimmons (born 22 February 1969 in Sydney) was the Head of Resilience NSW and was previously the Commissioner of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service between September 2007 and April 2020. Career Fitzsimmons joined the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) as a volunteer member of Duffys Forest Brigade in 1985. After qualifying as a motor mechanic he became a salaried officer in the NSW RFS in 1994, taking on the role of Regional Planning Officer for the Central East Region. Maurie Fowler
Maurice John Fowler (10 August 1944 – 8 May 2017) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played 120 games for the Kyabram Football Club. In 1967 he was cleared to but later that year transferred to Williamstown in the VFA without playing a senior game for Footscray. In his one season with the VFA Seagulls in 1967, he played 16 games and kicked 15 goals. He then returned to the Goulburn Valley Football Netball League, playing one season with Mooroopna and one season with Kyabram, before accepting the position as playing coach of the Palm Beach Currumbin Football Club on the Queensland Gold Coast in 1970. He coached Palm Beach Currumbin to 2 premierships between 1970 & 1974 before returning to Victoria as playing coach of the Robinvale Football Club in the Sunraysia Football League.
