Kurt Roehrig
J. Kurt Roehrig (born 28 October 1956) is a motorsports engineer and racing driver. Roehrig was the head of former NASCAR Cup Series team Roehrig Motorsports. Roehrig himself has raced in various series such as the IMSA GT Championship. Racing career Sports car racing Kurt Roehrig started racing cars in the late 1970s alongside his brother J. Dana Roehrig. The brothers raced in the 1978 IMSA GT Championship. In a Porsche 911 the duo worked their way up to 18th place after starting 43rd in the 20th Annual Daytona Fire Cracker 400. His debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona, in 1979 ended after 223 laps. For the occasion Roehrig joined Dave White and John Hamilton at D.R. Racing. NASCAR Cup Series
The NASCAR Cup Series is the top racing series of the NASCAR, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The series began in 1949 as the Strictly Stock Division, and from 1950 to 1970 it was known as the Grand National Division. In 1971, when the series began leasing its naming rights to the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, it was referred to as the NASCAR Winston Cup Series (1971–2003). A similar deal was made with Nextel Communications, Nextel in 2003, and it became the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series (2004–2007). Sprint Corporation, Sprint acquired Nextel in 2005, and in 2008 the series was renamed the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (2008–2016). Walt Bohren
Walt Bohren (February 4, 1948 died February 8, 2011) was an American race car driver who won the IMSA GTU Championship in 1980. Bohren was a long time racer in the International Motor Sports Association. His racing career began with motorcycles and he moved into cars driving Formula Fords. Bohren moved to IMSA racing and began a long association with Mazda. He drove a Mazda RX-2 to the RS championship in 1978. Bohren eventually graduated to the GTU division where he drove Mazda RX-7s. Driving for the Racing Beat team, Bohren won five races to claim the 1980 GTU championship. He also co-drove the GTU winning car at the 1981 12 Hours of Sebring. Bohren drove in the GTO division with limited success. He also competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1984, finishing 13th. The USF Pro 2000 Championship Presented by Cooper Tires, formerly known as the Star Mazda Championship, Pro Mazda Championship, and later Indy Pro 2000 Championship, is an open-wheel racing series serving as the third step on the Road to Indy ladder system, between the U.S. F2000 Championship and Indy NXT. Ralt was a manufacturer of single-seater racing cars, founded by ex-Jack Brabham associate Ron Tauranac after he sold out his interest in Brabham to Bernie Ecclestone. Ron and his brother had built some specials in Australia in the 1950s under the Ralt name (standing for Ron and Austin Lewis Tauranac). Atlantic Championship
The Atlantic Championship is a formula race car series with races throughout North America. It has been called Champ Car Atlantics (after its former name), Toyota Atlantics (due to the series' previous history of using Toyota-powered engines), or just Atlantics or Formula Atlantic, although the latter two terms risk confusion with the Sports Car Club of America's amateur Formula Atlantics division. Starting in 2012, the series was revived with SCCA Pro Racing sanction by Formula Race Promotions, with the series last raced in 2009 under IMSA sanction. FRP switched to USAC sanctioning in 2017. The Barber Dodge Pro Series was a professional open-wheel auto racing series from 1986 to 2003. It was one of the first professional spec series for open-wheel racecars in North America. The races were primarily on road and street courses in North America, although the schedule did sometimes include a few ovals. This series is often confused with Skip Barber's long-standing amateur racing series which has always used different and significantly less powerful cars. Watkins Glen International, nicknamed "The Glen", is an automobile race track located in the town of Dix just southwest of the village of Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. It was long known around the world as the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980).
