Kurt Angle
Kurt Steven Angle (born December 9, 1968) is an American retired professional wrestler and amateur wrestling, amateur wrestler. He first earned recognition for winning a Wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's freestyle 100 kg, gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympics despite competing with a broken neck, and achieved wider fame for his tenures in WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). He is considered one of the greatest professional and amateur wrestlers of all time. Angle won numerous accolades while at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, including being a two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion in the Wrestling weight classes, Heavyweight division. NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships
The NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships have been held since 1928. In addition to determining the national champion in each weight class, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships also determines All-American wrestlers for each weight. The top eight finishers in each weight class earn All-American status. The top four teams earn podium and team trophy finishes. Since 1934, team scoring officially became a permanent feature of the NCAA Wrestling Championships. In 1928 and from 1931–1933, there was only an unofficial team title. Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State) won the 1928 and 1931 unofficial titles. Indiana won the 1932 unofficial title, and in 1933, Iowa State and Oklahoma A&M were unofficial co-champions. The WWE European Championship was a professional wrestling championship competed for in World Wrestling Entertainment. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, multiple wrestlers held the European and WWE Intercontinental Championships within short spans of each other, and three held both simultaneously, becoming "Eurocontinental champions".
