Chinese martial arts, commonly referred to with umbrella terms Kung fu (term), kung fu (; ), kuoshu () or wushu (sport), wushu (), are Styles of Chinese martial arts, multiple fighting styles that have developed over the centuries in Greater China. "Kung Fu" is a song by American rapper YBN Cordae, released in July 2018. It is the lead single from YBN's only mixtape, ''YBN: The Mixtape'' (2018). Produced by Take a Daytrip, it is considered Cordae's breakout single. Critical reception The song received generally positive reviews from music critics. ''Kung-Fu Master'', known as in Japan, is a 1984 beat 'em up, beat 'em up game developed and published by Irem for arcade video game, arcades. It was distributed by Data East in North America. Designed by Takashi Nishiyama, the game was based on Hong Kong martial arts films. It is a loose adaptation of the Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao film ''Wheels on Meals'' (1984), called ''Spartan X'' in Japan, with the protagonist Thomas named after Jackie Chan's character in the film. The game is also heavily inspired by the Bruce Lee film ''Game of Death'' (1972), which was the basis for the game's concept. Nishiyama, who had previously designed the side-scrolling shooter ''Moon Patrol'' (1982), combined fighting elements with a shoot 'em up gameplay rhythm. Kung Fu Records is an American independent record label founded in 1996 by Joe Escalante and Warren Fitzgerald of the punk rock band The Vandals. Founded in order to release a record by the Riverside, California band Assorted Jelly Beans, the label soon grew to include a roster of notable artists such as The Ataris, Ozma, Tsunami Bomb, and The Vandals themselves. In 2000 Escalante started Kung Fu Films as a subsidiary of the music label in order to release DVDs of live concerts, music videos, band documentaries, and independent films. In 2005 Kung Fu also spawned the spinoff label Broken Sounds Records, focusing on hardcore releases. "Kung Fu" is a song by the band Ash, released as the first single from their album, ''1977''. It was released in March 1995 as a CD single, limited edition 7-inch, and standard 7-inch vinyl. The song was written by Tim Wheeler and produced by Owen Morris. Writing and recording The song was written by Tim Wheeler in five minutes on Boxing Day 1994 at Belfast International Airport and recorded in one take on the following day. The song was recorded on the Verve's equipment, who were nearby recording their ''A Northern Soul'' album at the same time.
