''Kumki'' () is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language musical adventure romantic drama film written and directed by Prabhu Solomon. It was presented by N. Lingusamy and produced by N. Subash Chandra Bose, under the banner Thirrupathi Brothers, and distributed by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green. It features Vikram Prabhu, making his acting debut, while Lakshmi Menon, Thambi Ramaiah and Ashvin Raja appear in other prominent roles. The story revolves around a mahout and his trained Kumki elephant, who is used to guide other wild animals to minimize the destruction of properties and fields of nearby villages. Filming took place in various places of Karnataka and Kerala. The film's music is composed by D. Imman, in which his soundtrack was commended by the audience and critics. Prabhu Solomon (born 7 May 1969) is an Indian film director who has primarily worked on Tamil films. After making his directorial debut in 1999 with ''Kannodu Kanbathellam'', he had a middling career before rising to prominence with the success of the romantic tragedy film ''Mynaa'' (2010). Yaar Kannan
Yaar Kannan is an Indian film director and screenwriter who has worked on Tamil films. He made his debut with the 1985 with the horror film '' Yaar?'' and regularly collaborated with Ramarajan in the late 1980s. Career After assisting Mahendran, Kannan made his debut as a filmmaker by directing '' Yaar?'' (1985), a horror film which gave a breakthrough to actor Arjun in the Tamil film industry. Junior Balaiah
Raghu Balaiah (28 June 1953 – 2 November 2023), popularly known as Junior Balaiah, was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films. The son of actor T. S. Balaiah, he primarily featured in supporting roles throughout his career, which stretched over 40 years. Personal life Junior Balaiah was born as Raghu Balaiah in Chennai (then known as Madras) on 28 June 1953. He was the third son of actor T. S. Balaiah. Tamil Nadu State Film Awards were given for excellence in Cinema of Tamil Nadu, Tamil cinema in India. They were given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
