The Romantic painter Michał Kulesza (26 November 1799 – 6 November 1863) was among the first lithographers in the area of the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania, ruled by Russia for almost all of his life. His frequent theme, sites linked to the Grand Duchy's history, reflected the growing Lithuanian and Polish ethnic activism in the area. He lived and worked in today's southern Lithuania, south-eastern Belarus, and north-eastern Poland, and traveled around in search of new subjects for his oil paintings and lithographs. A leading landscape painter of his period, Kulesza created images that are now among the sparse visual records of the region in the first half of the 19th century. Marta Pihan-Kulesza (Polish pronunciation: ; born 23 July 1987) is a Polish artistic gymnast. She represented her country at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She is an 11-time Polish all-around champion (2004-2005, 2007–2010, 2012–2014, 2018, 2020) and a multiple-time World Cup medalist. Personal life Marta Pihan was born on 23 July 1987 in Szczecin, Zachodniopomorskie, Poland. She has been married to Roman Kulesza since 2009. In 2017, she gave birth to her daughter Jagna. Jakub Kulesza (born 12 November 1990) is a Polish politician and a Member of Parliament. Kulesza studied electronics, computer science and telecommunications at the Warsaw University of Technology. He was employed in enterprise computing. Kulesza organized the youth wing of the Real Politics Union, which operated until 2009. Since 2010 he is associated with KoLiber, serving as president from 2012 to 2013. He was also president of the Progressive Foundation. In the parliamentary elections in 2015, Kulesza ran for the Sejm in the Lublin district as leader of the Kukiz'15 list. He was elected with 15,058 votes. Ryszard Kulesza
Ryszard Kulesza (28 September 1931 – 19 May 2008) was a Polish footballer, coach and official, one of managers of the Poland national football team. His father was killed during the Warsaw Uprising, and Kulesza himself, who was 13, was lucky to survive, as a German soldier threw him under a passing tank. After the uprising, he was forcibly taken to Germany as Ost-Arbeiter, but escaped and returned to Poland on foot. After the war, Kulesza played in such teams, as Okęcie Warszawa, Polonia Warsaw, and Polonia Bydgoszcz. He ended his career as a player in 1961, and began working as a coach. In 1972–1974, Kulesza coached Lechia Gdańsk, and since 1974, he worked with several national teams of Poland, such as U-21 (1974–1975), and U-23 (1975–1978). Competing in two Summer Olympics, she won two bronze medals in the K-2 500 m event (2000, 2004). Seweryn Roman Kulesza (23 October 1900 in Radom – 14 May 1983 in Los Angeles, United States) was a Polish horse rider who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics.
