Kültəpə
Kültəpə (also rendered as ''Kultepe, Aşağı Gültəpə, Gültəpə, Kyul'tepe, Kul'tepe'', and ''Kultepe-1'') is a settlement dating from the Neolithic, a village and municipality in the Babek District of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,859. Research In 1951, archeologist Osman Habibulla began excavation in the settlement, clarifying the stratigraphy and cultural strata of the area. The tell (archaeology), tell was much disturbed in the past. As excavators had found, the town features a cultural layer with the total depth of 22 m. The earliest 9 m of this belongs to the Neolithic. Some Halaf culture artifacts have been found. In the Eneolithic layer the excavators discovered remains of buildings, as well as burial places. Kültepe ( Turkish: ), also known under its ancient name Kaneš (Kanesh, sometimes also Kaniš/Kanish) or Neša (Nesha), is an archaeological site in Kayseri Province, Turkey. It was already a major settlement at the beginning of the 3rd millennium BC (Early Bronze Age), but it is world-renowned for its significance at the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC (Middle Bronze Age). Kul Tepe Jolfa (Gargar Tepesi) (Kul Tapeh) is an ancient archaeological site in the Jolfa County of Iran, located in the city of Hadishahr, about 10 km south from the Araxes River. It dates to Chalcolithic period (5000–4500 BC), and was discovered in 1968. Occupation continues into the late Bronze Age. Pottery sherds have also been recovered from the Bronze Age and Urartian periods. Description Kul Tepe is a multi-period tell about 6 ha in extent, and 19 m high. It is located 967 m above sea level.
