Merhawi Kudus
Merhawi Kudus Ghebremedhin (; born 23 January 1994) is an Eritrean professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProSeries, UCI ProTeam . During his professional career, Merhawi has taken six victories including three national road titles as well as the general classification and two stages at the 2019 Tour du Rwanda. Career Born in Asmara, Merhawi was named in the start list for the 2015 Tour de France, becoming one of the first two black Africans to start the Tour alongside teammate and countryman Daniel Teklehaimanot. At the age of 21 Merhawi was the youngest rider in the race. He was named in the start list for the 2016 Giro d'Italia. He competed in the Cycling at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's individual road race, men's road race at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Personal life One of six children, Merhawi's younger brother Milkias has also competed professionally in cycling.
