Kudur is a place in the southern state of Karnataka, India.Village code= 2211500 Kudur, Ramanagara District, Karnataka It is located in the Magadi taluk of Bengaluru South in Karnataka. It is 21 km from Magadi, 56 km from Ramanagara and 30 km from Tumakuru. Demographics India Census, Kudur had a population of 9114 with 4568 males and 4546 females. The location is accessible from Solur (around 12 km to Kudur) or from Marur handpost (around 5 km to Kudur). Ramanagara District
Bengaluru South ( Ramanagara ) District is one of the 31 districts of Karnataka state in southern India. Ramanagara City is the administrative headquarters of this district. The district is part of Bangalore Division. History Ramanagara district was carved out of the erstwhile Bangalore Rural district on 23 August 2007, comprising Ramanagara, Channapatna, Harohalli, Kanakapura and Magadi taluks. To date, it has given highest number of Chief Ministers for Karnataka of any of the state's districts, namely Kengal Hanumanthaiah, HD Devegowda, HD Kumaraswamy. In 2020 there was a proposal to rename the district to "New Bengaluru district". In July 2024, the Government of Karnataka voted to rename the district to Bengaluru South district, and said that the Revenue Department would begin the process of renaming the district. Magadi
Magadi is a town and taluk located in Bengaluru South District , Karnataka, India. History As per a legend, Magadi was founded in 1139 by a Chola king, who, in the course of an expedition, heard that in early times it had been the residence of some saints. Magadi later passed into the hands of Hoysalas, before it became a part of the Vijayanagara Empire. The town was expanded in area during the reign of Achyuta Deva Raya, who had appointed Samanta Raya to manage the affairs of the district that Magadi was a part of. Samanta Raya received the town as a grant from the king in return for his fortification of Savandurga, who had it possession from 1543 to 1571, before it was passed on to his son Sampaja Raya. Attempts to plunder the town by Gangappa Nayak, a watchman during Chikka Raya's reign, was thwarted by Kempe Gowda I, who put him to death, before taking over the town. Vokkaliga (also transliterated as Vokkaligar, Vakkaliga, Wakkaliga, Okkaligar, Okkiliyan) is a community of closely related castes, from the Indian states of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. As a community of warriors and cultivators they have historically had notable demographic, political, and economic dominance in Old Mysore (region). Ramanagara
Ramanagara is a city in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is also the headquarters of the Bengaluru South District. It is approximately 50 kilometres from Bangalore. There are buses and trains as public transportations which approximately takes 90 minutes from Bangalore. Famous Bollywood movie '' Sholay'' was shot in 1975 at the surrounding hills of Ramanagara now called Ramagiri hills but also has nickname of Sholay hills. Also the 2022 Malayalam film Jana Gana Mana was also shot here. The town was known as Shamsherabad or Ramserpuram at the ruling time of the Mysorean emperor, Tipu Sultan.
