Kubala (film)
''Kubala'' or ''Aces Looking for Peace'' (Spanish: ''Los ases buscan la paz'') is a 1955 Spanish sports film directed by Arturo Ruiz Castillo. It portrays the life of the Hungarian footballer Ladislao Kubala who plays himself. Kubala moved to Spain where he played for FC Barcelona and the Spain national football team. The film has a Cold War anti-communist theme which was in line with the policy of General Franco's regime.Bentley p.128 A film about and starring the Argentine-born Real Madrid player Alfredo Di Stéfano was released the following year. Irán Eory
Irán Eory ( fa, ایران اِئوری; 21 October 1939 – 10 March 2002, born Elvira Teresa Eory) was an Iranian-born actress. She achieved fame in Mexico after moving to that country in the late 1960s. Biography She was born in Tehran, Iran, to an Austrian father and an Iranian Jewish mother — Angela Sidi — on October 21, 1939 in Tehran, Iran. Irán was given as the screen name for her, because it suggests her birth country. Eory was raised in Spain, where she learned Spanish, and entered a beauty contest in Monaco, distinguished by Prince Rainier. She started her acting career before emigrating to Mexico in the late 1960s, to become an actress, singer, and a theatre producer. Eory suffered a brain hemorrhage and she died at 62 in Mexico City on March 10, 2002 of embolism. Her ashes were entombed at the cemetery Panteón de Las Lomas located in Naucalpan, State of Mexico. Estanislau Basora Brunet (also Estanislao; 18 November 1926 – 16 March 2012) was a Spanish footballer who played as a winger or striker. Most of his 15-year career was spent at FC Barcelona for which he appeared in more than 300 official games, surpassing the 100-goal mark and winning 14 major titles. Antoni Ramallets Simón (1 July 1924 – 30 July 2013) was a Spanish football goalkeeper and manager. He spent most of his career at FC Barcelona, during the 1950s and early 1960s, winning the Ricardo Zamora Trophy as the best goalkeeper in La Liga on five occasions, and 18 major club honours. He represented Spain in the 1950 FIFA World Cup and, in the 1960s, managed several clubs in his country, notably winning two major trophies with Real Zaragoza. José Samitier
Josep Samitier Vilalta (; 2 February 1902 – 4 May 1972), also known as José Samitier, was a Spanish football player, manager and scout who played as a midfielder for FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, OGC Nice, the Catalan XI, and Spain. He later coached Atlético Madrid, Nice and Barcelona and worked as a scout for both Barcelona and Real Madrid. Gerard Tichy (also Gérard Tichy, Gerhard Tichi and Gerardo Tichy, 11 March 1920 – 11 April 1992) was a Spanish actor of German descent, who appeared in numerous movies, including several international productions.
