Kuala Tahan
Kuala Tahan is a Malaysian village located at the confluence of the Tahan River, Tahan and Tembiling Rivers, in Jerantut District, Pahang. Etymology The word ''Kuala'' means "confluence" in Malay (refer Kuala Lumpur), and the Tahan River is a tributary of the Tembeling river. Tourism Resorts at Kuala Tahan receive visitors to Taman Negara National Park. Other facilities include floating restaurants and campsites. There are several accommodation options in Kuala Tahan which serve as Taman Negara's base camps. The Mutiara Taman Negara Resort is the only resort within Taman Negara National Park, located across the Tembeling river from Kuala Tahan town proper. Jerantut District
The Jerantut District (Pahang Malay: ''Jerantet'') is a district in north-eastern Pahang, Malaysia. Jerantut is home to the National Park. Being the largest district in Pahang, it bounds the northern states of Kelantan and Terengganu, in the south, Temerloh District and Maran District, in the west, Lipis District and Raub District and in the east, Kuantan District. Tembeling River, the main river in this district is one way to the National Park and the surrounding villages in Ulu Tembeling, as well as national highway 1508 from Jerantut town. The confluence of Tembeling and Jelai rivers form the Pahang River where it flows right through central Pahang before emptying into the South China Sea near the royal town Pekan. Taman Negara National Park
Taman Negara is a national park in Peninsular Malaysia. It was established in 1938 and 1939 as the King George V National Park after Theodore Hubback lobbied the sultans of Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan to set aside a piece of land that covers the three states for the creation of a protected area. After independence, it was renamed Taman Negara, which means "national park" in Malay. Taman Negara has a total area of 4,343 km2 and it is one of the world's oldest rainforests, estimated to be more than 130 million years old. Mount Tahan, Peninsular Malaysia's highest point with an elevation of 7,175 ft (2,187 m) above sea level, is within the park's boundaries. Jerantut is a town in Jerantut District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is the largest district in the State of Pahang. It covers an area of 2,900 square miles (755,771.93 Hectares). Bordered by the States of Kelantan and Terengganu in the North, Temerloh and Maran districts in the South, Kuala Lipis and Raub districts in the West and Kuantan district and Terengganu state in the East.
