Krypto, also known as Krypto the Superdog, is a superhero dog appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with the character Superman. In most continuities, Krypto is Superman's pet dog, usually depicted as a white dog of a generic pedigree. Krypto has appeared in numerous television series and films, such as the animated series Krypto the Superdog, ''Krypto the Superdog''; the television series ''Smallville'', the live-action HBO Max series ''Titans (2018 TV series), Titans'', the animated film ''DC League of Super-Pets'' (2022) voiced by Dwayne Johnson, and the Superman & Lois season 4, fourth season and series finale of ''Superman & Lois''. The character will make his live-action cinematic debut in the upcoming film ''Superman (2025 film), Superman'' (2025), an installment of the DC Universe (franchise), DC Universe (DCU) media franchise. ''Superman'' is an ongoing American comic book series featuring the DC Comics superhero Superman as its protagonist. Superman began as one of several anthology features in the National Periodical Publications comic book ''Action Comics'' #1 in June 1938. The strip proved so popular that National launched Superman into his own self-titled comic book, the first for any superhero, premiering with the cover date summer 1939. Between 1986 and 2006 it was retitled ''The Adventures of Superman'', while a new series used the title ''Superman''. In May 2006, it was returned to its original title and numbering. The title was canceled with issue #714 in 2011, and was relaunched with issue #1 the following month which ended its run in 2016. A fourth series was released in June 2016 and ended in April 2018, while the fifth series was launched in July 2018 and ended in June 2021. Supergirl (Kara Zor-El)
Supergirl (real name Kara Zor-El) is a superheroine appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. She was created by Otto Binder and designed by Al Plastino. Danvers first appeared in the story "The Supergirl from Krypton" in ''Action Comics'' #252 (May 1959). Kara is the biological cousin of Kal-El, who went on to adopt the name of Clark Kent and the superhero identity Superman. Her father, Zor-El, is the brother of Superman's father, Jor-El. During the 1980s and the revolution of the Modern Age of Comics, ''Superman'' editors believed the character's history had become too convoluted, thus killing Supergirl during the 1985 ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' event and retconning her out of existence.
