Kruys
Kruys is an old List_of_Dutch_patrician_families, Dutch Patrician family. Since the seventeenth century members of the Kruys family have been active in the Dutch National Cabinet, town councils, Royal Netherlands Navy command and the international business and trade community. History The name Kruys is derived from the Dutch word for 'cross' (Dutch: 'kruis'), which is one of the main elements in the family coat of arms. Willem Jan Kruys (1906–1985) was a vice admiral in the Royal Netherlands Navy and later director-general of the Dutch National Aviation Authority (Dutch language, Dutch: Rijksluchtvaartdienst). Early life Willem Jan Kruys was a member of a well-known Dutch Kruys, Navy family. He was born on 13 January 1906 in Pangkalan Brandan (Sumatra). His father Gerhardus Kruys (1876–1955) worked for the ‘Batavian Oil Company' in the Dutch East Indies. His mother, Judith Elizabeth de Bruyne (1883–1937), was a daughter of Navy Officer captain :nl:Willem Jan de Bruyne, Willem Jan de Bruyne. Hendrik Kruys
Hendrik Kruys (1851-1907) was a Dutch trader and entrepreneur in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Biography Hendrik Kruys was born in Vriezenveen, Overijssel, on 10 December, 1851. His father Claas Kruys (1802-1877) was Mayor of Vriezenveen from 1852-1870, and a merchant at the firm Jansen, Joost & Co in Saint Petersburg, Russia. His mother was Frederika Bramer (1823-1899), the second wife of his father. Hendrik was a half brother of Gerhardus Kruys, a Dutch vice admiral and minister of Navy. Hendrik's great uncle was Jan Kruys (1767-1830), the first Mayor of Vriezenveen.Familiearchief Kruys

Vriezenveen
Vriezenveen (West Low German, Lower Saxon: '''t Vjenne, Venne, Vjenne, Vreeznven or Vreeinvenne'') is a town in the municipality of Twenterand in the Dutch province of Overijssel. The population was 13,800 on January 1, 2020. Until July 1, 2002, Vriezenveen formed an independent municipality together with the villages of De Pollen, Westerhaar-Vriezenveensewijk, Aadorp and the hamlets Bruinehaar, Weitemanslanden and Westerhoeven. In 2001, the municipality of Vriezenveen was merged with the municipality of Den Ham, which included the villages of Den Ham, Vroomshoop, and Geerdijk. The new municipality was called Vriezenveen and renamed Twenterand in 2003. The town hall of Twenterand is located in Vriezenveen. Rusluie
The Rusluie were a community of Dutch people, Dutch origin living in the city of Saint Petersburg in Russia, between 1720 and 1917. They originally came from the town of Vriezenveen, in the Dutch Provinces of the Netherlands, province of Overijssel. The name ''Rusluie'' is in Vriezenveens, a dialect of Tweants dialect, Twents, and means ''Ruslui'' in Dutch language, Dutch (English: ''Russia Folk/People'') History The first Vriezenveners to travel to Russia left between 1720 and 1730, and were Artisan, craftsmen and Weaving, weavers by trade. Minister Of The Navy (Netherlands)
The minister of the navy () of the Netherlands was the minister responsible for the Ministry of the Navy and the Royal Netherlands Navy. Created in 1855, the position was abolished with the creation of the position of Minister of Defence (Netherlands), Minister of Defence in 1928, then reestablished in 1941 upon the abolition of the Ministry of Defence. When the Ministry of Defence was reestablished in 1948, the position of Minister of the Navy again was abolished.
