Kroy Nernberger
Kroy Everett Nernberger (born February 27, 1984) is an American curler from Madison, Wisconsin. He was a bronze medalist at the as alternate on John Shuster's Team USA. Curling career Nernberger competed in three Junior National Championships, with his best finish at fourth place in 2002 and 2004. He has medaled at the Men's National Championship three times, all in a row on skip Craig Brown's team, silver in 2014 and 2015 and bronze in 2016. Later in 2016 Nernberger was invited to be alternate on the US Champion team, skipped by John Shuster, as they represented the United States at the World Championship. There they won the bronze medal, defeating Japan's Yusuke Morozumi in the bronze medal match. Medford, Wisconsin
Medford is a city in Taylor County, in north-central Wisconsin, United States. The population was 4,349 at the 2020 census. The city is located mostly within the boundaries of the Town of Medford. It is the county seat of Taylor County. History Medford is located on historic Ojibwe forest land acquired by the United States in the 1837 Treaty of St. Peters. In 1864, the federal government authorized a grant of some of this land to subsidize railway construction through the area. The Wisconsin Central Railroad Company, controlled by Boston financier Gardner Colby, obtained the land grant and constructed the railroad in the 1870s. The railroad company and a local lumber milling company laid out the city of Medford in 1875 and sold lots for twenty-five dollars each. The railroad named the new settlement after Medford, Massachusetts, the hometown of a railroad official. Scott Baird
Scott Baird (born May 7, 1951) is an American curler. At 54, he is the oldest American athlete to ever participate in the Winter Olympics, which he did at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Despite this feat, Baird was only the alternate for Pete Fenson's U.S. team and did not throw a stone, although he still received a bronze medal. Jason Smith (born September 18, 1983) is an American curler from St. Paul, Minnesota. Career Smith was formerly the vice-skip of John Shuster's team. His other teammates were Jeff Isaacson and John Benton, with Chris Plys as the alternate. As a member of this team he won the 2009 United States Olympic Curling Trials, which doubled as the National Championship, earning the team the privilege to represent the United States at the 2009 World Championships in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada and the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. At the World Championships, Jason Smith and his team placed fifth. They ended round robin play in a tie for a playoff position and they lost that tiebreaker to Team Norway. John Landsteiner
John Landsteiner (born May 19, 1990) is an American curler and two-time Olympian. He competed in the 2014 Winter Olympics and won gold as part of John Shuster's team in the 2018 Winter Olympics. Career Landsteiner was a prolific junior curler, playing in the United States Junior Curling Championships six times every year from 2007 through 2011. His best finish was in 2008 when he earned the bronze medal playing lead for Brad Caldwell. In 2011 Landsteiner participated at the World Junior Championships as alternate for Aaron Wald's team. Since aging out of juniors in 2012, Landsteiner has played lead for John Shuster's team. Tyler George
Tyler George (born October 6, 1982) is an American curler from Duluth, Minnesota. He is a three-time U.S. Champion, 2016 World bronze medalist, and 2018 Olympic gold medalist. Since the 2018 Olympics, he has taken a break from playing competitive curling, instead spending time as an ambassador and coach for the sport. Phill Drobnick (born October 8, 1980 in Virginia, Minnesota) is an American curler who has been involved with curling since 1986. Curling career Drobnick won the Minnesota State junior Championship in both, 2000 and 2003, allowing him to advance to the United States Junior National Championships. In 2000, Drobnick won the gold medal and advanced to the World Junior Championships in Geising, Germany, where he finished 6th. He competed in the United States Olympic curling trials for the 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics, receiving bronze in the trials in 2001. Sean Beighton (born November 22, 1988) is an American curler from Seattle, Washington. Career During his years of junior eligibility, Beighton was active as a skip. He won the national junior championship in 2010, which gave him the opportunity to represent the United States at the 2010 World Junior Curling Championships, where he finished in ninth place with a 1–8 win–loss record. Beighton also skipped a team which included former national university champion Blake Morton at the qualifying tournament for the 2013 Winter University Games, but finished third.
