Kristi snowcats were 1950s/1960s tracked vehicles suitable for snow and other terrain and produced originally in Colorado and then later in Washington (state), Washington. Propeller drive snowplane The original Kristi snowplanes Kristi Snowplane design Patent #2,700,427U.S. patent officegranted 1-25-1955 were very similar to the earlier Russian Aerosledges which were developed as early as World War I. The Kristi design was more advanced than the Aerosledges, and utilized adjustable ski action to perform higher speed turns and received a patent for its design in 1955. According to the introduction, contained in the operators manual: "The development of the Kristi snow vehicles began in early 1947 in the form of a very unusual snow plane.
