Krishna Dasgupta
Krishna Dasgupta () (born as Krishna Ganguly, 29 December 1937 – 2013), one of the foremost disciples of Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty of Kotali Gharana was a renowned Bengali classical singer and music teacher from West Bengal, India, who sang numerous songs in Bengali language movies and non-film as well, particularly during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. She is widely known for lending voice in Mahisasuramardini, the popular early Bengali special dawn radio programme that has been broadcast since 1931 on All India Radio (AIR) in West Bengal. Janai is a census town in Chanditala II CD Block in Srirampore subdivision of Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. Geography Location Janai is located at . Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh (8 May 1909 – 18 February 1997) often known as 'Guru' Jnan Prakash Ghosh was an Indian harmonium and tabla player from Farukhabad gharana of Hindustani classical music and musicologist. Early life and background Born in a Hindu family with musical background in Kolkata, he was the grandson of Dwarkanath Ghosh (1847–1928), who founded Dwarkin in 1875 and invented the "Dwarkin harmonium", popular in West Bengal, India. He graduated from the Scottish Church College of the University of Calcutta He was keen in sports (he played soccer, hockey, polo and billiards). He also practised painting, but had to discontinue these due to an eye injury in a soccer match. Then he turned to music. ''Bipasha'' is a 1962 Indian Bengali-language drama film starring Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen. and directed by Agradoot. The film is based on a novel titled ''Bipasha'' by Sri Tarashankar Bandyopadhay.The story fleetingly describes the horror of riots in West Pakistan during the time of Partition of India. Bipasa was described as a victim of that riot in the film. However, the film deviates from the original novel and avoids describing Bipasha as a gang rape victim by Pakistani Islamist rioters.
