Alan Kreider
Alan Kreider (November 1941 - 8 May 2017) was an American Mennonite historian. He was the American Professor Emeritus of Church History and Mission at the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana. His main interests were mission, worship, peace, and ecclesiastical history (especially the early church and Anabaptism). Kreider continued to speak, write and publish in these areas of interest until his death in May 2017. Education Kreider was educated at Goshen College, Indiana (BA 1962), Princeton University (1962–63), Heidelberg University (1963–64), Harvard University (AM 1965) (PhD 1971), and the University of London (1966–68). He has been the recipient of a Danforth Fellowship (1962–68), a Harvard Travelling Fellowship (1966–67), and an American Council of Learned Societies Fellowship (1972–74). Alec Devon Kreider
On May 12, 2007, Alec Kreider, a 16-year-old high school student at the time, murdered his classmate and friend Kevin Haines, his father Thomas Haines, and mother Lisa Haines in their home in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania. Kreider was arrested a month later on June 16, 2007 and was charged with three counts of first degree murder. He pleaded guilty to all charges, and was subsequently convicted on all three counts and sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole. Kreider later became eligible for a re-sentencing hearing following the United States Supreme Court's 2012 decision in ''Miller v. Alabama'', which held that mandatory sentences of life without the possibility of parole are unconstitutional for juvenile offenders. On January 20, 2017, Kreider died by suicide by hanging himself in his prison cell, before the resentencing hearing was scheduled. Christopher James Kreider (born April 30, 1991) is an American professional ice hockey winger and alternate captain for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Raised in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston, Kreider previously played college ice hockey at Boston College. James Andreas Kreider (born June 24, 1955) is an American Democratic Party politician who served as Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives. Kreider was born in Nuremberg, Germany. He graduated from Nixa Public High School in 1973 and received a degree in agricultural business and economics from Southwest Missouri State University. He was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives after redistricting in 1992, defeating longtime Republican legislator Don Gann. Steve Kreider (born May 12, 1958) is an American football quarterback and a wide receiver who played eight seasons in the National Football League for the Cincinnati Bengals. History Kreider was born in Reading, Pennsylvania. He attended Schuylkill Valley School District, Schuylkill Valley High School in Leesport, Pennsylvania, and played high school football for the Schuylkill Valley Panthers. After high school, he attended Lehigh University. In 1977, Kreider was named a Division II All-American, catching 53 passes for 1,181 yards and 12 touchdowns. He went on to catch another 9 passes for 171 yards and four touchdowns in a postseason match against the University of Massachusetts, as Lehigh went on to win the Division II National Championship.
