Krakės Eldership
Krakės Eldership ( lt, Krakių seniūnija) is a Lithuanian eldership, located in the northwestern part of Kėdainiai District Municipality. Eldership was created from the Krakės ''selsovet'' in 1993. Geography The territory of Krakės Eldership is located in the East Samogitian Plateau. Relief is mostly flat, in some places slightly undulated. Elderships Of Lithuania
A ''seniūnija'' (in English: eldership, elderate, ward, parish, or subdistrict) is the smallest administrative division of Lithuania. An eldership may comprise a very small region consisting of few villages, one single town, or a part of a big city. Elderships vary in size and population depending on their location and nature. A few elderships make up a municipality. Šilainiai (Kaunas) and Dainava (Kaunas) are the most populous elderates, with population counts over , exceeding the population of some entire municipalities. Elderships manage small-scale local matters, such as repairing pavements and dirt roads, and keep records on all families living in the eldership. The premise of the concept is that - unlike in higher administrative divisions - an elder (the leader of the eldership) could have time to talk to every person in the eldership who wants to. Šušvė
Šušvė is a river in central Lithuania, a right (the longest) tributary of the Nevėžis river. It begins in Kelmė district municipality, 6 km (4 mi) southeast from Tytuvėnai. The river passes through Tytuvėnai and Sulinkiai Marshes and flows south through Radviliškis district municipality. Finally, Šušvė passes through Kėdainiai district municipality and flows into the Nevėžis near Graužiai village. The width of the river valley is between 0.5 and 3 km. From December to March Šušvė is usually frozen. Dams were built at Vaitiekūnai and Angiriai (Angiriai Reservoir). The Šušvė Hydrological Sanctuary was established in 1992 to protect the lower courses of the river. Krakės-Dotnuva Forest
The Krakės-Dotnuva Forest ( lt, Krakių-Dotnuvos miškai) is a forest in Kėdainiai District Municipality, central Lithuania, located 1.5 km from Krakės and 4 km from Dotnuva. It covers 32.8 km2 area. The rivers Jaugila, Smilgaitis, Tranys, Girotakis drain the forest. As of 2005, 38 % of the area was covered by birch, 25 % by spruce, 13 % by aspen, 8 % by ash, 7 % by oak tree groups. Angiriai Reservoir
The Angiriai Reservoir is an artificial lake in Kėdainiai District Municipality, central Lithuania. It is located north-west from Josvainiai town. Plinkaigalis Lake
The Plinkaigalis Lake ( lt, Plinkaigalio ežeras, also Minaga) is a lake in Krakės Eldership, Kėdainiai District Municipality, central Lithuania.
