Kraisak Choonhavan
Kraisak Choonhavan (, 8 October 1947 – 11 June 2020) was a Thai politician. He was a member of the Senate for Nakhon Ratchasima Province from 2000 till 2006. Family and education Born the son of former prime minister General Chatichai Choonhavan and Than Phu Ying Bunruen Choonhavan, Kraisak attended Saint Gabriel's College in Bangkok and Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. He received a bachelor's degree in international relations at the George Washington University, and master's degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. He taught political economy at Kasetsart University (1976–1989) and taught the politics of Southeast Asian countries and became an activist for human rights and the environment. The governor of Bangkok (, ) is the head of the local government of Bangkok. The governor is also the chief executive of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The governor is elected to a renewable term of four years, currently it is one of the two directly elected Executive officer, executive offices in the kingdom. The 2006 Thai interim civilian government is the Thai provisional civilian government headed by Interim Prime Minister General Surayud Chulanont.
