Kouibly Department is a department of Guémon Region in Montagnes District, Ivory Coast. In 2021, its population was 144,723 and its seat is the settlement of Kouibly. The sub-prefectures of the department are Kouibly, Nidrou, Ouyably-Gnondrou, and Totrodrou. History Kouibly Department was created in 2005 as a second-level subdivision via a split-off from Man Department. At its creation, it was part of Dix-Huit Montagnes Region. In 2011, districts were introduced as new first-level subdivisions of Ivory Coast. At the same time, regions were reorganised and became second-level subdivisions and all departments were converted into third-level subdivisions. At this time, Kouibly Department became part of Guémon Region in Montagnes District. Departments of Ivory Coast (french: départements de Côte d'Ivoire) are currently the third-level administrative subdivision of the country. Sub-prefectures of Ivory Coast (french: sous-préfectures de Côte d'Ivoire) are the fourth-level administrative subdivisions of the country. There are currently 510 sub-prefectures. They were created in 2011, when the administrative subdivisions of Ivory Coast were reorganised. In Ivory Coast, there are 14 first-level districts (including two autonomous districts) sub-divided into 31 regions, which are sub-divided into 108 departments (french: départements), which are further sub-divided into 510 sub-prefectures. Dix-Huit Montagnes Region (often shorted to Montagnes Region) is a defunct region of Ivory Coast. From 1997 to 2011, it was a first-level subdivision region. Ouyably-Gnondrou is a town in western Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefectures of Ivory Coast, sub-prefecture of Kouibly Department in Guémon Region, Montagnes District. The town has a multi-purpose centre, housing educational and health facilities, social and cultural centres, as well as meeting places for the community.
