was a Japanese actor and film director. Career Born in Ishinomaki in Miyagi Prefecture, Kosugi first studied at the Nihon Eiga Haiyū Gakkō before joining the Nikkatsu studio in 1925. He came to prominence in tendency films such as '' Ikeru ningyō'' (1929). He was the lead player in a series of critically acclaimed realist films made at Nikkatsu's Tamagawa studio in the 1930s, particularly Tomu Uchida's '' Jinsei gekijō'' (1936) and '' Tsuchi'' (1939) and Tomotaka Tasaka's war films, '' Gonin no sekkōhei'' (1938) and '' Mud and Soldiers'' (1939). is a Japanese actor, martial artist and writer with extensive training in Shindō jinen-ryū Karate, Kendo, Judo, Iaido, Kobudo, Aikido and Ninjutsu. Shunji Kosugi
(born February 17, 1960), is a retired Japanese professional wrestler, who was based in New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW). Career Shunji Kosugi made his debut on January 11, 1981 against Norio Honaga. He was known for his technical prowess in the ring, influenced by Karl Gotch. He was the last man to defeat Satoru Sayama, before Sayama became Tiger Mask and also the very first opponent of the future Jushin Thunder Liger, Keiichi Yamada. Kosugi's biggest accomplishment came in April 1985, when he defeated Yamada to win the very first Young Lion Cup. As time went on, Kosugi suffered a severe back injury, which forced him to retire on April 10, 1988. He is considered the founder of the naturalism movement in modern Japanese literature. Biography Kosugi was born in what is now Misato, Akita Prefecture. He moved to Tokyo in 1886 to attend the English Law College (the forerunner of Chuo University, but soon dropped out to devote himself to writing full-time.
