Cosmos
The cosmos (, ; ) is an alternative name for the universe or its nature or order. Usage of the word ''cosmos'' implies viewing the universe as a complex and orderly system or entity. The cosmos is studied in cosmologya broad discipline covering scientific, religious or philosophical aspects of the cosmos and its nature. Religious and philosophical approaches may include the cosmos among spiritual entities or other matters deemed to exist outside the physical universe. Etymology The verb wikt:κοσμέω, κοσμεῖν (''kosmein'') meant generally "to dispose, prepare", but especially "to order and arrange (troops for battle), to set (an army) in array"; also "to establish (a government or regime)", "to adorn, dress" (especially of women). ''Cosmos'' (subtitled The Science of Everything) is a science magazine published in Adelaide, South Australia, by CSIRO Publishing that covers science globally. It appears four times a year in print as ''Cosmos Magazine'', and the online edition is updated daily with news as well as long features and multi-media content, and includes the print magazine content. ''Cosmos Weekly'' is a subscription-based weekly online edition published on Fridays, and a podcast was launched in April 2022. KOS-MOS
( recursive acronym for Kosmos Obey Strategical Multiple Operation System) is a fictional character from the ''Xenosaga'' role-playing video game series by Monolith Soft and Bandai Namco Entertainment. KOS-MOS also appears as a major character in the anime '' Xenosaga: The Animation'' and in several crossover video games. Conception and design Created for the ''Xenosaga'' series by Monolith Soft, KOS-MOS was conceived by Tetsuya Takahashi. According to his wife and ''Xenosaga'' writer Soraya Saga, due to how they often depicted human characters in their works as "strong will in a fragile flesh and blood", KOS-MOS was meant to be the opposite, "the delicate pieces of soul in an unbreakable vessel". While she acknowledge she was unable to show the character's story fully within the games, she stated "I think it must be left veiled for now." Kosmos (Marvel Comics)
The Beyonder () is a fictional cosmic entity appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Mike Zeck, the Beyonder first appeared in ''Secret Wars'' #1 (May 1984) as an unseen, nigh-omnipotent being from outside the multiverse who kidnapped the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe to have them do battle on Battleworld, a fictional planet created by the Beyonder. The character plays a more antagonistic role in the 1985 sequel, ''Secret Wars II'', in which he takes human form to learn about desire but threatens to destroy the multiverse out of increasing frustration.
