''Kosmo!'' (short for ''Cosmopolitan''; Malay: ''Kosmopolitan'') is a Malay-language compact format newspaper tabloid in Malaysia owned by the Utusan Group, which also owns ''Kosmo!'' Sunday paper ''Kosmo! Ahad'', ''Utusan Malaysia'', and ''Mingguan Malaysia''. It is available in Malaysia at most newsstands. History ''Kosmo!'' was launched on 30 August 2004 by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. All the sections in this newspaper use an exclamation mark (!). Unlike its rival newspaper, '' Harian Metro'', whose readership and daily circulations increased over the years, ''Kosmo!'' has a much lower readership and decreased daily circulations. Formerly, ''Kosmo!'' was sold in Malaysia at a price of 80 cents daily excluding Sundays, when it was sold at RM 1.00 under a different name, that is ''Kosmo Ahad''. Kosmo (GIS)
Kosmo is a desktop geographic information system (GIS) with advanced functions. It is the first of a series of developments that are being made available to the community. Kosmo was implemented using the Java programming language and is being developed from the JUMP GIS platform and a series of free code libraries, all of which are well acknowledged and widely used in different free software projects (for example, Geotools and JTS). It is available for Windows and Linux operating systems. It is a tool for visualizing and processing spatial data, characterized by its friendly user interface and access to multiple data formats, both vectorial (in a file, such as Shapefile, GML, KML, DWG and DXF, or a database, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle) and raster (TIFF, ECW, MrSID, or other georeferenced image files, such as BMP, GIF, JPEG, or PNG). Kosmo, Utah
Kosmo (also spelled Kosmos or Cosmo) is a ghost town in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The town was built in two sections, with the east end built in 1901 to serve as a rail spur of the First transcontinental railroad for the ranchers in the area. Background The western part of the town was constructed in 1912, about one-half mile from the east part, as a spur for potash mining. Potash had become difficult to acquire during World War I, as its major producer was Germany. The Salt Lake Potash Company was established to combat the shortages and built ponds, canals, a rail spur and processing station in West Kosmo. In addition, three bunkhouses, a cookhouse, garage, stock corral, general store, blacksmith and coal house were constructed in the town. A 1925 Utah Gazetteer noted the town had a population of 200 people. All that remain of the town are a few concrete foundations and canals in West Kosmo.
