Koriukivka
Koriukivka (, ) is a small city in Chernihiv Oblast (province) of Ukraine. It was founded in 1657, over 350 years ago, and it is the administrative center of Koriukivka Raion. The city hosts the administration of Koriukivka urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population in 2021 is estimated to be History During the reign of the Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky in 1657, who was in search of free land for the nobility class and the settlers from the Right-Bank of Ukraine. A search headed by the Cossack Omelyan Karuka found the eventual site and deemed it fit for a small settlement due to the thick protection of the surrounding forests. The city later suffered heavy losses during the Second World War and is a site of the World War II massacre. Koriukivka urban territorial hromada () is one of the hromadas of Ukraine, located within Koriukivka Raion in Chernihiv Oblast. Its administrative centre is the city of Koriukivka. The total area of the hromada is , and the population is 13,604 (). The hromada was originally established as an amalgamated hromada on 18 December 2016, before being expanded to its current size in 2020 as part of decentralisation in Ukraine. Koriukivka Raion () is a raion (district) of Chernihiv Oblast, northern Ukraine. Its administrative centre is located at the town of Koriukivka. Snovsk
Snovsk ( ) is a city in Koriukivka Raion, Chernihiv Oblast (oblast, province) of Ukraine. Population: It hosts the administration of Snovsk urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population was 12,315 in 2001. Name Historically, the city was named after the Snov, Snov River on which it is situated. The city was called Shchors between 1935 and 2016, in honour of Nikolay Shchors. On 21 May 2016, the Verkhovna Rada (Ukraine's national parliament) adopted a decision to change the name of Shchors back to its original Snovsk and consequently renaming Shchors Raion to Snovsk Raion, in accordance with the Ukrainian decommunization laws, law prohibiting names of Communist origin. Kazlų Rūda () is a city in the Marijampole County in southern Lithuania. It is located north from Marijampolė. The Snov (; ) is a river in Bryansk Oblast in Russia and Chernihiv Oblast in Ukraine, right tributary of the Desna River (Dnieper basin). The length of the river is 253 km.
