Korg Mini Pops
The Mini Pops were a number of early analog drum machines from the Japanese musical equipment company Korg during the late 1960s and the 1970s. The machines were based around a number of preset rhythm patterns, such as waltz, samba, rhumba, bossa nova, tango, slow rock, swing, and rock 1 and 2. Models Minipops 3 Released 1967, and features four drum sounds. Minipops 5 Released in 1966. Minipops 7 The Mini-Pops 7 released in 1966, featured 15 drums sounds and 20 patterns. It was the most used of all. French musician Jean-Michel Jarre used it throughout his breakthrough album, '' Oxygene''. Some rhythms were achieved by overlaying two of the presets in a manner not intended by the machine's original design. Équinoxe Part V, VI and VII featured the ''Rock 1'' pattern. , founded as Keio Electronic Laboratories, is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures electronic musical instruments, audio processors and guitar pedals, recording equipment, and electronic tuners. Under the Vox brand name, they also manufacture guitar amplifiers and electric guitars. History KORG was founded in 1962 in Tokyo by Tsutomu Kato and Tadashi Osanai as ''Keio Gijutsu Kenkyujo Ltd.''. It later became because its offices were located near the Keio train line in Tokyo and Keio can be formed by combining the first letters of Kato and Osanai. The Pictures On My Wall
"The Pictures on My Wall" is the first single released by English rock band Echo & the Bunnymen and was released on 5 May 1979 in a limited issue of 4,000 copies. The single reached number twenty-four on the UK Indie Chart. Releases The single appeared as "Pictures on My Wall" on the 1980 album ''Crocodiles''. The single features a drum machine, as Pete de Freitas had not yet joined the band. In 1985 the single was also packaged with a limited edition version of the album '' Songs to Learn & Sing''. The single was reissued in 1991 on the Document label as a maxi single on 12" (DV3T) and CD (DC3). Echo And The Bunnymen
Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson. By 1980, Pete de Freitas joined as the band's drummer. Their 1980 debut album '' Crocodiles'' went into the top 20 of the UK Albums Chart. After releasing their second album '' Heaven Up Here'' in 1981, the band's cult status was followed by mainstream success in the UK in 1983 when they scored a UK Top 10 hit with " The Cutter", and the album which the song came from, ''Porcupine'', hit number 2 in the UK. Univox
Univox was a musical instrument brand of Unicord from the early 1960s, when they purchased the Amplifier Corporation of America of Westbury, New York, and began to market a line of guitar amplifiers. Univox also distributed guitars by Matsumoku, effects units by Shin-Ei Companion, and synthesizers by Crumar and Korg. In 1985, the Wickes Companies sold Unicord to Korg, and the Univox brand was phased out.
