Korg M3
Korg M3 is a music workstation synthesizer manufactured by Korg, Korg Corporation and introduced at the NAMM Show in January 2007, being released four months later. The M3 is the successor of the famous Korg Triton, Triton series. The name is based on the former Korg M1, M1, which was considered a revolutionary synth at the time (and is not to be confused with Korg M3R rack mount unit of 1989, which was a cost-reduced version of the M1R rack unit). The hardware synthesizer chip was designed around the HD-1, one of the various engines in the Korg OASYS. The M3 was named keyboard of the year at the Musik Messe Awards in Germany in early 2007. Roland Juno-G
Roland Juno-G is a music workstation/synth introduced in 2006 by Roland Corporation. It is based on the Fantom-X series, having a vintage design that resembles the first Juno synthesizers, such as the Juno-106. The Juno-G's main competitors in the approximate price range, with similar features, when first released, were the Korg Triton Le/TR and Yamaha MO6 workstation synthesizers. Despite the similar name and later introduction, the Juno-G was not set to replace the popular Juno-D synthesizer: for they both ran concurrently. Apart from the Juno name, the G and the D have little similarities, the D having its roots in Roland's RS PCM machines. The Juno-G was discontinued in 2010, when Roland introduced its successor, the Juno-Gi. The Fantom-X (Xa/X6/X7/X8/XR) was a music workstation/synthesizer in the Roland Fantom line, produced by Roland Corporation. It was introduced in 2004 as an upgrade from the Fantom S series. The Fantom-X competes with the Korg Triton/Triton Extreme, the Yamaha Motif and other similar large-scope keyboards such as the discontinued Alesis Fusion. In 2008 it was succeeded by the Fantom-G*, which was devised to compete with the new Korg and Yamaha flagship keyboards. Korg Trinity
The Korg Trinity is a synthesizer and music workstation released by Korg in 1995. It was Korg's first modern workstation and marked a significant evolution from its predecessors by offering features such as built-in digital audio recording, 32-note polyphony, an extensive internal sound library, assignable effects, and a large touchscreen for advanced control and editing functions, a feature not previously seen on any musical instrument. It also offered modular expansion for not only sounds, but also studio-grade features such as ADAT, various sound engine processors, audio recording capability, and more. The Kronos is a music workstation manufactured by Korg that combines nine different synthesizer sound engines with a sequencer, digital recorder, effects, a color touchscreen display and a keyboard. Korg's latest flagship synthesizer series at the time of its announcement, the Kronos series was announced at the winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California in January 2011. Korg RADIAS
The Korg RADIAS is a virtual analog synthesizer and Vocoder, released by Korg in 2006. The RADIAS' MMT (Multiple Modelling Technology) engine was based on the Korg OASYS synthesizer module, providing for several different synthesis methods, two of which may be combined in a single voice e.g. phase distortion synthesis can be combined with subtractive synthesis. The different synthesis methods employed by MMT represent the majority of methods used historically in other Korg synthesizers: digital waveguide synthesis Korg first used in the Korg Z1 and phase distortion synthesis was first used in the Korg DS-8. This flexibility allows for very realistic emulations of past Korg synthesizers (both digital and analog), though stays away from trying to emulate the Korg M1 and the Korg Wavestation, (these synthesizers used Pulse-code modulation, Sample-based synthesis and Wave sequencing/ vector synthesis respectively, something that MMT does not emulate).
