Gideon Koren, FACMT, FRCP(C) ( he, גדעון קורן; born August 27, 1947 in Tel Aviv, Israel) is an Israeli-Canadian pediatrician, clinical pharmacologist, toxicologist, and a composer of Israeli folk music. Eliyahu Koren (Hebrew: אליהו קורן; July 23, 1907 — February 17, 2001) was a master typographer and graphic artist. After studying in Nuremberg, he immigrated to Mandatory Palestine in 1933. He served as head of the graphics department of Keren Kayemet, the Jewish National Fund, from 1936 to 1957. He founded Koren Publishers Jerusalem in 1961, which published the Koren Bible in 1962. Early life Koren grew up in Rishon Lezion, where he started taking classical-piano lessons with Mira Broslavsky when he was 3 years old. She wrote both poems and plays, but today she is primarily known for her diaries, which are regarded to be important historical documents of contemporary Norway. Leonard Koren (born January 4, 1948) is an American artist, aesthetics expert and writer. Life and work Leonard Koren was born in New York City in 1948, and raised in Los Angeles. In 1969, he co-founded the Los Angeles Fine Arts Squad, a mural painting group. He attended UCLA, graduating with a Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning in 1972. After graduation, Koren worked as an artist in Los Angeles, where his work focused on bathing environments. John Koren (1861–1923) was an American clergyman and statistician. Education and career John Koren was born in Iowa as one of nine children of the Norwegian-American church leader Ulrik Vilhelm Koren. He was an 1879 graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and an 1882 graduate of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, with a degree in divinity. Most of his later life, he spent in public service as a government employee for the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Bureau of the Census, and the City of Boston's statistics department.
