Kordell Jackson
Kordell A. Jackson (born April 9, 1999) is an American professional football defensive back for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Austin Peay. He has also been a member of the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Early life Jackson attended Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He recorded 235 tackles and 10 interceptions in high school. He earned all-state honors his senior year. College career Jackson played college football for the Austin Peay Governors from 2017 to 2021. He played in all 12 games his freshman year in 2017, totaling 42 tackles, three sacks, one interception, and eight pass breakups. He appeared in 10 games during the 2018 season, accumulating 32 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and one forced fumble. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage. They are distinguished from the other two sets of defensive players, the defensive linemen who play directly on the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers, who play in the middle of the defense, between the defensive line and the defensive backs. Among the defensive backs, there are two main types, cornerbacks, which play nearer the line of scrimmage and the sideline, whose main role is to cover the opposing team's wide receivers, and the safeties, who play further back near the center of the field, and who act as the last line of defense. 2022 NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. It was the first draft to be held in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The first five selections were defensive players, the second-most taken at the start of a draft after the six in 1991. Along with the 1972 and 2000 drafts, it marked the third time defensive players were the first two picks after the first three picks in the previous year's draft were quarterbacks.
