Korbwng
The Korbong are one of the sub-tribes of Halam community of Tripura, India. As of 2016, there are a total of 31 families with 122 people in the subtribe. The model village of Korbongpara, whose foundation was laid in 2016, is intended for the Korbong community. Variant spellings of the name include ''Korbong'', ''Korbang'', ''Karbang'', ''Karbong'', ''Korbwng''. Halam People
The Halam community are various tribes native to the state of Tripura in India. The name ''Halam'' was coined by the ''Tripura, Tipra Maharaja''.Varman, S.B.K.: The Tribes of Tripura – A dissertation. Gov't Press. Agartala. Directorate of Research. 1986. 2nd Edition. p. 25. As per their oral tradition they called themselves "Riam language, Riam", which literally means "Human being". And lyrically they also call themselves "Riamrai, Raivon, Longvon, Chepvon etc.". The Halam are further divided into 12 Tribes, sub-tribes, namely Chorai, Molsom, Hrangkhol people, Hrangkhol, Kaipeng, Kalai (tribe), Kalai, Ranglong, Sakachep, Thangachep, Bongcher, Korbwng, Dap (tribe), Dab and Rupini.
