Korangi Fish Harbour
Korangi Fish Harbour is located in Chashma Goth, Deh Rehri, Korangi District, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. It is managed by Federal Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Government of Pakistan. The purpose for establishment of KoFHA was to exploit deep sea resources beyond provincial territorial water i.e. beyond 20 nautical miles. The Government of Sindh () () is the provincial government of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Korangi District
Korangi District () is one of the seven administrative districts of Karachi Division, created in 2013 after the area's split from Karachi East District. Located in eastern Karachi in the province of Sindh, Pakistan, its population is 3,127,976, according to the 2023 census. History The district was a part of District East in Karachi, which was divided in November 2013. The district is diverse include Baloch, Pashtun, Sindhi, Punjabi and other ethnicities. The district suffers from water crisis and contamination issues. A reverse osmosis plant was inaugurated in Union Council 35 of District Municipal Corporation (DMC) Korangi on 6 March 2017. Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority
The Karachi Fish Harbour is a port located in Keamari District, which is part of Karachi Division, Sindh province, Pakistan. Over 90 percent of the Pakistan's fish and seafood catch and exports pass through the harbour. As per Financing Agreement executed between Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan and European Economic Community (EEC), the Government of Sindh through promulgation of an Ordinance established Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority in May 1984, with an aim to operate and administer the Karachi Fish Harbour with all rights of ownership. In 2020, Keamari District was carved out from Karachi West District, which was the previous jurisdiction over the harbour.
