Kool Savas
Savaş Yurderi (born 10 February 1975), known by his stage name Kool Savas, is a German rapper of Turkish Origin. Along with Taktlo$$, he formed the highly influential German rap duo Westberlin Maskulin (1997–2000). He was also a founding member of the German rap crew Masters of Rap in 1996. Savas is considered one of the most successful German rappers. In 2012, he collaborated in "Xavas", a duo formation with Xavier Naidoo, a German soul and R&B singer-songwriter and actor in the album ''Gespaltene Persönlichkeit''. The two had already worked together on a number of other releases. Early life Yurderi was born on 10 February 1975 in Aachen, Germany, the son of a German mother and a Turkish father from Çorum. Paul Hartmut Würdig (born 30 November 1980), better known as Sido, is a German rapper. He interprets his stage name as "super-intelligentes Drogenopfer" (super-intelligent drug victim). It originally stood for "Scheiße in dein Ohr" (shit into your ear), a line from his track "Terroarr". Sido is known for his provocative and aggressive lyrics. After gaining prominence with his debut album ''Maske'' in 2004, he became recognisable for wearing a silver skull mask. However, he stopped wearing the mask in 2005. Würdig's career began in 1997 as one half of the duo Royal TS (now Alles ist die Sekte, A.i.d.S) with B-Tight. Azad Azadpour (born 24 November 1973), known professionally by the mononym Azad, is a German rapper of Kurdish descent based in Frankfurt. As one of the first German street rappers who become successful, he strongly influenced the German rap scene. Career After having arrived in Germany from Sanandaj in Iranian Kurdistan at the young age of 10, he was into hip hop, rap, beatboxing, and graffiti. ''Gespaltene Persönlichkeit'' ("Split Personality") is a 2012 studio album by Xavas, a musical project and collaboration between German soul and R&B singer Xavier Naidoo and German rapper Kool Savas. The name Xavas was chosen by taking the first letter of Xavier Naidoo's name and the last part of Kool Savas' name. The album topped both the German and Swiss albums charts and peaked at number three in the Austrian albums chart. Background Earlier collaborations Xavier Naidoo and Kool Savas had cooperated on a great number of earlier occasions prior to the Xavas joint project.
