Konyaspor
Konyaspor Kulübü (, Konya Sports Club), commonly referred to as Konyaspor, is a Turkish professional football club based in Konya, one of the largest cities in central Anatolia. Due to sponsorship agreements, the club is also officially known as TÜMOSAN Konyaspor. The team currently competes in the Süper Lig, the highest level of Turkish football. Konyaspor was originally founded in 1922, but the modern form of the club was re-established in 1981 through a merger with Konya Gençlerbirliği, adopting green and white as the official colors. These colors symbolize the club’s identity and are inspired by the natural and cultural heritage of the region. Since 2014, the club has played its home matches at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium, a modern, multi-purpose venue with a capacity of over 42,000 spectators. 2008–09 Süper Lig
The 2008–09 Süper Lig (also known as ''Turkcell Super League'' due to sponsoring reasons) was the fifty-first season since its establishment. It began on 22 August 2008 and ended on 31 May 2009. Galatasaray were the defending champions. Beşiktaş clinched the championship after winning at Denizlispor on the last matchday. The latter barely avoided relegation after finishing in a three-way tie on points with Gençlerbirliği and Konyaspor. Head-to-head comparison between those three teams eventually resulted in the demotion of Konyaspor, who joined Kocaelispor and Hacettepe on their way to the second-level First League. Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray had to settle for fourth and fifth place, respectively, after Sivasspor came in as runners-up and Trabzonspor finished third. 2010–11 Süper Lig
The 2010–11 Süper Lig (known as the ''Spor Toto Süper Lig'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 53rd season since its establishment. The season began on 14 August 2010 and concluded on 22 May 2011. Fenerbahçe claimed their 18th title, but the season was marred by the 2011 Turkish football match-fixing scandal which involved 17 Süper Lig teams and dozens of people, including club bosses and Turkish internationals. Teams Ankaraspor, Denizlispor and Diyarbakırspor were relegated at the end of the 2009–10 season after finishing in the bottom three places of the standings; Ankaraspor were automatically relegated by the Turkish Football Federation because of the election of Ahmet Gökçek, who was already a member of the board of Ankaraspor, as chairman of Ankaragücü. Konya İdman Yurdu
Konya İdman Yurdu was a Turkish sports club based in Konya, Turkey. The club was founded on 3 July 1923 and dissolved in 1981 after the merger with Konyaspor. The colours of Konya İdman Yurdu were green and white. History Konya İdman Yurdu was founded on 3 July 1923. They achieved success in the regional Konya Football League very soon and won the championship title on numerous occasions, participating in the former Turkish Football Championship in several editions as Konya champions. Recep Uçar
Recep Uçar (born 22 September 1975) is a Turkish football Manager (association football), manager and former player. He's the current head coach of Konyaspor. Playing career Uçar began playing football at the age of 10 with Ümraniyespor, before moving to Pendikspor at the age of 14. He began his career for 4 years with Pendikspor in TFF Second League, while graduating with an English degree in university. He moved to İstanbul Başakşehir F.K., İstanbul Başakşehir in 1998 and became their captain, before returning to Pendikspor in 2006 and retiring in 2008. Managerial career From 2009 to 2019 he worked at İstanbul Başakşehir. He started as the first scout for İstanbul Başakşehir, and helped them scout players like Edin Višća, Doka Madureira, and Samuel Holmén before acting as long-time assistant manager under Abdullah Avcı. The league was founded in 2001 as the ''Turkish Second League Category A'' after the reorganization of the Second Football League, which was the second level of the Turkish league system between 1963 and 2001. The Konya Metropolitan Municipality Stadium (), is a multi-purpose stadium in Konya, Turkey. It is primarily used for association football, football matches with Konyaspor being the main tenants. It is part of a complex of sports venues that are planned on the outskirts of the city, as part of the Konya Olympic Village. 1924 Turkish Football Championship
The 1924 Turkish Football Championship was the first edition of the competition and the first national championship ever in Turkish football. It was held in September. All matches were played at İstiklal Sahası in the capital Ankara. Harbiye won their first championship title unbeaten and without conceding a single goal by defeating Bahriye 3–0 in the final and became the first national champions in Turkish football history, with two more titles to follow in 1942 and 1945 under the name Harp Okulu. For Bahriye it was the sole appearance in the championship final and their sole participation in the competition altogether.
