HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design () is a school for film, photography, literary composition, and fine art at the University of Gothenburg in Gothenburg, Sweden. Its precursors trace back to 1848 and 1865, and in this sense is older than the University of Gothenburg (founded 1891). Dan Lissvik
Dan Lissvik (born 1978) is a Swedish visual artist (MFA at Valand Academy School of Fine Arts), musician and producer known for founding the Balearic music project Studio as well as co-founding the Gothenburg-based Service record label. Music In 1998, Dan Lissvik and Kristofer Ström (of Ljudbilden och Piloten) founded Alé, an instrumental band based in Malmö, Sweden. Joined by Magnus Granbom on bass and Jesper Nordblad on guitar, they recorded an untitled, full-length live album on cassette in 1999. After a series of live performances throughout the spring and summer of 1999, Alé disbanded when Lissvik moved to Gothenburg to pursue an MFA at the Valand Academy. Maria Camilla Lindberg (born 30 March 1977) is a Swedish professional boxer who has held the WIBF light-middleweight title since 2009. Peter Dahl (artist)
Peter Dahl (16 February 1934 – 17 May 2019) was a Swedish painter, sculptor, and printmaker. Biography Peter Dahl was the son of Hans Peter Dahl and Ragna née Askvik. The family moved in February 1939 from Norway to the borough of Bromma in Stockholm. His paternal grandmother and paternal uncles, including graphic artist Chrix Dahl, stayed in Norway; he spent summers as a child with the family in Vestre Aker. He became a Swedish citizen in 1954. From 1999 until his death, he was married to Tina Hamrin Dahl, PhD in History of Religion and MA in Political Science. They lived on Kungsholmen in Stockholm. Bruno Andreas Liljefors (; 14 May 1860 – 18 December 1939) was a Swedish artist. He is perhaps best known for his nature and animal motifs, especially with dramatic situations. Jan Wilsgaard (23 January 1930 – 6 August 2016) was an American-born Norwegian automotive designer. He was the head of design at Volvo Cars from 1950 to 1990. Wilsgaard was one of twenty-five designers nominated for Car Designer of the Century. Elsa Oskaria Jernås Bacarisas (10 September 1895 – December 1979 ) was a Swedish graphic artist, painter and costume designer born in Masthuggs Parish, Gothenburg. She was married to Gibraltarian painter Gustavo Bacarisa. She was born in Gothenburg on 10 September 1895 to Gustaf Oskar Jernås (then Johansson) and Ida Dahlström. Annika Ekdahl (born 1955 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a textile artist who designs tapestries marrying Renaissance and Baroque practice with more modern techniques, creating large-scale works in her own contemporary style. Úlfur Karlsson (born 13 October 1988) is an Icelandic artist and film director. Úlfur began his career making short films and documentaries. In the year of 2003 Úlfur screened the short film ''Pirovat'' at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival.
