Konstantin Kabantsov
Konstantin Petrovich Kabantsov (; born 12 October 1968) is an officer of the Russian Navy. He currently holds the rank of Vice-Admiral, and has been commander in chief of the Northern Fleet since 2024. Biography Kabantsov was born on 12 October 1968 in Semipalatinsk, now Semey, in what was then the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, in the Soviet Union. He entered the Soviet Navy, studying at the M. V. Frunze Higher Naval School in Leningrad and graduating in 1990. He was assigned to the Northern Fleet, where he served aboard nuclear submarines, rising through the positions of combat unit commander, assistant commander, and finally senior assistant commander of a submarine by 2003. In preparation for service at higher ranks, he had completed the Higher Special Officer Classes of the Navy in 1995. Semey
Semey (; , formerly known as Semipalatinsk ( ) until 2007 and as Alash-Qala ( ) from 1917 to 1920, is a city in eastern Kazakhstan, in the Kazakh part of Siberia. When Abai Region was created in 2022, Semey became its administrative centre. It lies along the Irtysh River near the border with Russia, north of Almaty and southeast of the Russian city of Omsk. Its population is 312,764 (stat.gov.kz). History The first Russian settlement in the area dates from 1718, when Tsardom of Russia, Russia built a fort beside the river Irtysh River, Irtysh, near the ruins of an ancient Buddhist monastery, where seven buildings could be seen. Kuznetsov Naval Academy
The N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy is the main staff college and postgraduate institution for the Russian Navy and is located in Saint Petersburg. In 1827 Admiral Ivan Kruzenshtern initiated an Officers' Class at the Naval Cadet Corps. In 1862 the Class was reorganized into an Academic Course of Maritime Science. In 1877, to mark its fiftieth anniversary, the Class was renamed the Nikolaev Naval Academy (Nikolayevskaya Morskaya Akademiya) and in 1910 was completely detached from the Naval Cadet Corps. The Academy's last pre-revolutionary class was in 1913. Towards the end of the Soviet era the Academy was named the A. A. Grechko Naval Academy and finally was renamed the N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy. It is a postgraduate institution somewhat comparable to the U.S. Naval War College and should not be confused with officer commissioning schools such as the U.S. Naval Academy. The Russian News Agency TASS, or simply TASS, is a Russian state-owned news agency founded in 1904. It is the largest Russian news agency and one of the largest news agencies worldwide. TASS is registered as a Federal State Unitary Enterprise, owned by the government of Russia. Aleksandr Alekseyevich Moiseyev (; born 16 April 1962) is a Russian admiral who is currently the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy since 2024. He is an Admiral as of 2020, and was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation in 2011. In 2018 he took command of the Black Sea Fleet, and oversaw a period of expansion within the fleet. Pacific Fleet (Russia)
The Pacific Fleet () is the Russian Navy fleet in the Pacific Ocean. Established in 1731 as part of the Imperial Russian Navy, the fleet was known as the Okhotsk Military Flotilla (1731–1856) and Siberian Military Flotilla (1856–1918), formed to defend Russian interests in the Russian Far East region along the Pacific coast.
