Konjum Kumari
''Konjum Kumari'' () is 1963 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film, directed by G. Viswanathan and produced by T. R. Sundaram of Modern Theatres. The script was written by Mana and K. Devarajan, with music by Vedha. The film stars K. R. Indira Devi, Manorama and R. S. Manohar, with S. V. Ramadas, A. Karunanidhi and K. K. Soundar in supporting roles. Plot Alli ( Manorama) is a veritable jungle queen who rescues Rajangam ( R. S. Manohar), where a gang of robbers attack him in the forest. She loses her heart to him, but he turns her down. So, the rifle-toting heroine forces him to marry her at gunpoint. When the villain abducts Rajangam's brother for ransom, it's Alli who comes to the rescue again. How this and other events unite the couple forms the rest of the movie. Manorama (Tamil Actress)
Gopishantha (26 May 1937 – 10 October 2015), better known by her stage name Manorama, also called Aachi, was an Indian actress, playback singer and comedian who had appeared in more than 1000 films and 5000 stage performances and several television series predomninantely in the Tamil language until 2015. She was a recipient of the Kalaimamani award. In 2002, Government of India awarded Manorama the Padma Shri for her contribution to the arts. She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the film ''Pudhiya Padhai'' (1989) and Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South (1995). Vedha (composer)
Vedha (S. S. Vedhasalam) was an Indian composer who started working in Sinhala films during the early 1950s when they were being produced in Madras. Then he worked mainly in Tamil films. He was active in the field for about 25 years since 1952. He composed music for many films produced by Modern Theatres. He was popularly known to adapt Hindi tunes to Tamil songs. Career He started his career by assisting music directors in films. He was a co-music director in the 1955 film Menaka along with T. G. Lingappa and C. N. Pandurangan. Modern Theaters Ltd was an Indian film studio in Salem, Tamil Nadu started by T. R. Sundaram Mudaliar in 1935. The studio produced over more than 150 films until 1982 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Sinhalese and even English of which Tamil were the majority. History In the early 1930s, T. R. Sundaram entered the world of Tamil cinema as a partner of a Salem-based film company, Angel Films. He was involved in productions such as ''Draupadi Vastrapaharanam'' (1934), Dhruva (1935) and Nalla Thangal (1935). Then he decided to start his own company, Modern Theatres Limited. Kumari Rukmani (19 April 1929 – 4 September 2007), also known as Kumari Rukmini, was an Indian actress and dancer. She has acted in about 100 films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
