Kommunale Kinematografers Landsforbund
Film & Kino is an interest organization for municipalities that own cinemas in Norway. History It was established in 1917 under the name ''Kommunale Kinematografers Landsforbund'' (KKL), and was a national association of municipal-owned cinema companies. In Norway, as opposed to many other countries, municipal ownership gradually superseded private ownership in this field after 1912, and the establishment of KKL helped consolidate the municipal system by horizontal integration. Municipal companies had a market share of 20% in 1917, but this had risen significantly already by 1919. Film & Kino distributes a magazine of the same name, in circulation from 1916. It was originally named ''Norsk Filmblad''. A distribution bureau, Kommunenes Filmcentral, was created in 1919. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Norwegian International Film Festival
The Norwegian International Film Festival ( no, Den norske filmfestivalen) is a film festival held annually in Haugesund, Norway. The festival goes back to 1973. In 1985, the Amanda award was instituted. The Amanda is awarded every year at the festival in different movie categories. The award is a sculpture by the Norwegian sculptor Kristian Kvakland, measuring 30 cm (12") and weighing 2.5 kg (5.5 lb). The Norwegian Film Institute ( no, Norsk filminstitutt) was founded in 1955 to support and develop the Norwegian film industry. Noregs Ungdomslag (NU, literally "Norway's youth society") is a Norwegian cultural society formed in 1896. It has around 17,000 members and 450 local chapters. Activities Among the society's activities are folk dance, theatre and the spreading of knowledge and use of traditional costumes ( no, bunad). Several activities are directed towards youth and children. Some local chapters, such as Bondeungdomslaget i Oslo, run their own sports clubs ( IL i BUL), or also music societies.
