Kokalyane Point
Kokalyane Point ( bg, нос Кокаляне, ‘Nos Kokalyane’ \'nos ko-'ka-lya-ne\) is the point on the west coast of Rugged Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica forming the south side of the entrance to Bogomil Cove. Situated 810 m north-northwest of Benson Point, 970 m south of Ugain Point and 2.51 km south of Cape Sheffield. The point is named after the settlement of Kokalyane in western Bulgaria. Rugged Island (South Shetland Islands)
Rugged Island (in Spanish ''Isla Rugosa'', variant historical names ''Lloyds Island'' or ''Ragged Island'') is an island long and wide, lying west of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. South Shetland Islands
The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands with a total area of . They lie about north of the Antarctic Peninsula, and between southwest of the nearest point of the South Orkney Islands. By the Antarctic Treaty of 1959, the islands' sovereignty is neither recognized nor disputed by the signatories and they are free for use by any signatory for non-military purposes. Bogomil Cove ( bg, залив Богомил, zaliv Bogomil, ) is a 970 m wide cove indenting for 770 m the west coast of Rugged Island off the west coast of Byers Peninsula of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Benson Point
Benson Point is the ice-free headland forming the southwest extremity of Rugged Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is a northwest entrance point for Morton Strait. The area was known to early 19th century sealers. The feature is named after Elof Benson, First Mate of the American brig ''Hersilia'' under Captain James Sheffield, which visited the South Shetlands in 1819–20 and 1820–21. Ugain Point ( bg, нос Угаин, ‘Nos Ugain’ \'nos u-ga-'in\) is the point on the west coast of Rugged Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica separating Smyadovo Cove to the north and Bogomil Cove to the south. Cape Sheffield
Cape Sheffield is a cape forming the northwest extremity of Rugged Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It was named for Captain James P. Sheffield, Master of the brig ''Hersilia'' of Stonington, Connecticut, in 1819–20 and 1820–21, the first American sealer known to have visited the South Shetland Islands. In 1819–20 he took 8,868 sealskins from headquarters at Rugged Island. Kokalyane
Kokalyane ( bg, Кокаляне) is a village in the municipality of Sofia, in the district of Pancharevo in Bulgaria. As of 2007 it has 1,859 residents. The village is situated at the foothills of the Vitosha mountain, 18 km from the center of Sofia. The ruins of the Urvich fortress, connected with the fall of the Bulgarian Empire to the Ottomans in the end of the 14th century and the legends about the last Emperor Ivan Shishman, are located in the vicinity of the village.
