Kofi Adams
Kofi Iddie Adams (born 2 May 1975) is a Ghanaian politician who is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He is the member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency in the Oti region. He is a former National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress. Early life and education Kofi Iddie Adams was born on 2 May 1975. He comes from Teteman, a town in the Jasikan District in the Oti Region of Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with emphasis on Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Jerry John Rawlings (22 June 194712 November 2020) was a Ghanaian military officer and politician who led the country for a brief period in 1979, and then from 1981 to 2001. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana. Rawlings came to power in Ghana as a flight lieutenant of the Ghana Air Force following a coup d'état in 1979. Prior to that, he led an unsuccessful coup attempt against the ruling military government on 15 May 1979, just five weeks before scheduled democratic elections were due to take place.
