Knut Christian Langaard
Knut Christian Langaard (February 2, 1886 – May 1, 1965) was a Norwegian athlete, Olympic competitor, landowner, dog breeder, and actor. Family Langaard was the son of the businessman and patron of the arts Christian Langaard (1849–1922) and Ellevine Marie Langaard (1857–1890). His first marriage was to Elisif Fearnley (1889–1954), the daughter of the shipowner and industrialist Thomas Nicolay Fearnley, in the fall of 1910. In the next few years, the couple had the children Ella Marie (born 1911), Cecil (born 1912), Elisabeth (born 1914), Christian Knut (born 1915), and Elisif (born 1919). Langaard's only son, Christian K. Langaard, fought on the Allied side in the Second World War and fell during the campaign in North Africa in 1942. His first marriage ended in divorce. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of in 2019, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. During the Viking Age the area was part of Viken. Eskimo (1930 Film)
''Eskimo'' is a Norwegian–Danish adventure and drama film from 1930 directed by George Schnéevoigt. It starred Mona Mårtenson, Paul Richter, and Henki Kolstad, for whom it was his film debut at age 14. Had it not been for the fact that Denmark was also involved in the production, ''Eskimo'' would have been considered the first feature-length Norwegian sound film (rather than ''Den store barnedåpen'' from 1931). The language in the film is Norwegian. Plot Jack Norton is a gambler, and his father often lends him money to pay off his gambling debts. Finally, his father's patience runs out. He refuses to lend him more money, and he no longer wants to acknowledge Jack as his son. In desperation, Jack takes a motorboat and sails to sea. His boat sinks, but he is picked up by a fishing vessel on its way to the Arctic Ocean. The captain is a brutal man, and both he and the crew treat Jack badly. Ernst Bach
Ernst Bach (10 May 1876 – 1 November 1929) was an Austrian actor and playwright. He made his debut as an actor at the Wiener Raimond Theater in 1899. In 1903 he moved to Berlin to the Residenztheater, then to Lustspielhaus in 1905, where he became Regisseur in 1906 and in 1908 Oberregisseur. In 1909 he started what was to become a 20-year partnership with Franz Arnold with whom he wrote more than 20 plays, mainly farces and operettas. Their first hit play was '' The Spanish Fly'' in 1913. They went on to become one of the leading playwriting teams in Weimar Germany.Grange p.61 In 1917 he became the director of the Muenchener Volkstheater in Munich, whilst continuing his writing partnership with Franz Arnold at Starnberg. Knut Henrik Lund
Knut Henrik Lund (July 20, 1909 – May 15, 1991) was a Norwegian sculptor known for his portrait busts. Career Lund originally worked in shipping, a job he held until 1940. Before the Second World War, he was also a pupil of Wilhelm Rasmussen. During the war he fled to Sweden, and then from 1945 to 1948 he was at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm. The rest of his life he worked as a sculptor. Family Lund was the son of the painter Henrik Lund and Gunbjør Olsen, and he was the nephew of the composer Signe Lund. He married Irene Una Rasmussen in 1937, and in 1959 he married the actress Linge Langård. Didrik Cappelen (1873–1941)
Didrik Cappelen (8 October 1900 – 27 August 1970) was a Norwegian jurist and politician. He was born at Kviteseid in Telemark, Norway. He was a son of Supreme Court Attorney Didrik Cappelen (1873-1941) and Antoinette Therese von der Lippe (1876-1934). His brother was the jurist Hans Cappelen and his sister was the actress and singer Linge Langård. During the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany Cappelen worked together with his father, Carl P. Wright and Sverre Løberg in organizing resistance activities in the county of Telemark, Norway. Cappelen was arrested and in prison from 1940 to 1942 in Oslo, but escaped 30 January 1942.
