Knut Brofoss
Knut Brofoss (9 October 1948 – 3 April 2025) was a Norwegian civil servant. He was born in Oslo as a son of economist and politician Erik Brofoss Erik Brofoss (21 June 1908 – 7 May 1979) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of 1,064,235 in 2022, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Erik Brofoss (21 June 1908 – 7 May 1979) was a Norwegian economist and politician for the Labour Party. Brofoss was born in Kongsberg. In his younger days he was an athlete who competed national level in the 100 metres. He represented Kongsberg IF, and won a silver medal at the Norwegian championships in 1928. His career best time in 100 m was 10.8 seconds, achieved in August 1931 in Kongsberg. He had 6.96 metres in the long jump, achieved in July 1928 at Bislett stadion. He became Minister of Finance in 1945 and stayed in this position until 1947. He then helped found the Ministry of Trade and Shipping and headed it from 1947 to 1954. The National Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crime () is Norway's central unit for fighting economic and environmental crimes. The unit, created in 1989, has its main office in Oslo. Økokrim is both a police unit and a prosecution authority. The current director is Pål Lønseth. The Norwegian Institute for Alcohol and Drug Research (, SIRUS) was a social science research institute based in Oslo, Norway. On 1 January 2016 the institute was incorporated into the Norwegian Institute of Public Health. Inger-Else "Ingse" Stabel (born 14 December 1946) is a Norwegian judge. She was born in Oslo as a daughter of Supreme Court Justice Carl Ludovico Stabel (1912–1988) and Karen Andrea Elisabeth Eide (1914–2001). She is a niece of Fredrik Stabel.
